The Teco TPO20CFWAO is listed by CHOICE as a cooling-only portable air conditioner with 2kW of cooling capacity. But CHOICE’s public page does not reveal its expert rating or test results, and TECO’s official site uses a different model code—TPO20CFAO—for a similar 2.05kW unit. That mismatch matters: specifications for the latter should not be assumed to apply to the TPO20CFWAO.
What the public listing confirms about the TPO20CFWAO
CHOICE’s public listing identifies the TPO20CFWAO as a cooling-only portable air conditioner. It lists a 2kW cooling capacity, R290 refrigerant, a weight of 23kg, dimensions of 70 x 31 x 32cm (H x W x D), and a 1.5m duct. The listing also says a window kit and remote control are supplied. CHOICE’s Teco TPO20CFWAO listing shows a price of $499, but this is a page-displayed figure, not confirmation of today’s retail price.

TECO Australia’s official product page describes a 2.05kW cool-only portable air conditioner under the code TPO20CFAO—not TPO20CFWAO. The available information does not establish that these codes refer to the same appliance or explain their difference. TECO’s TPO20CFAO product page provides detailed specifications for that model, but those details should not be transferred to the TPO20CFWAO without confirmation from the product label, manual or manufacturer.

The available public information is not enough to judge how effectively or quietly the TPO20CFWAO cools a room, or what it costs to run. For a useful comparison, look for the following information for the exact model:

- Noise: Check whether a noise figure is published and whether it describes sound power or sound pressure; those measurements are not interchangeable.
- Installation: Confirm the supplied duct and window kit, their dimensions and compatibility with your window. The CHOICE listing says a 1.5m duct and window kit are supplied for TPO20CFWAO.
- Size and handling: Account for the listed 23kg weight and 70 x 31 x 32cm dimensions when planning where it will sit and how it will be moved.
- Warranty: Check the warranty terms for the exact model and seller. TECO’s category page states a two-year warranty for listed models, but that alone does not confirm eligibility or terms for TPO20CFWAO. TECO’s portable air conditioner category provides current category context.
Verdict
The TPO20CFWAO has a clear basic specification profile in CHOICE’s public listing: cooling-only operation, 2kW capacity, a supplied window kit and remote, and a 1.5m duct. However, the public listing does not disclose performance testing, and TECO’s detailed specifications are for the different code TPO20CFAO. Treat the TPO20CFWAO as a candidate to investigate, not a proven match for the related model: verify the exact code and the features that matter before buying.
