What the Panasonic NI-W950A offers
Panasonic lists the NI-W950A as a steam/dry iron with a double-tipped, non-stick anodized aluminum soleplate. The company describes its curved, elliptical design as intended to glide in any direction and calls the soleplate scratch resistant. These are manufacturer descriptions, not independently verified performance results.

Fabric settings and safe use
Follow the care label on each garment and its manufacturer’s ironing directions. Panasonic’s manual gives guidance for acrylic, silk, wool, cotton, and linen, and warns that some synthetic fabrics can melt at high heat. Start with the garment’s recommended setting rather than assuming a fabric can tolerate the iron’s maximum temperature.

- Disconnect the iron before filling or emptying it.
- Do not leave it unattended while connected to power.
- Do not direct steam toward yourself or another person.
Panasonic’s manual opens with this instruction: “Before operating this product, please read the instructions carefully, and save this manual for future use.”

Cleaning and care
Panasonic says starch and other residue can be wiped from the soleplate with a damp cloth. The manual cautions against metallic pads and rough surfaces, which may damage it, and says not to put cleaners or steam-iron cleaning products inside the iron because they may harm its working parts.

Is the NI-W950A still available, and what does it cost?
Panasonic’s product page displayed a price of $174.99 when accessed on October 8, 2026. That figure is volatile, and Panasonic’s legacy-model archive says archived products are no longer available for purchase. The two statements do not resolve whether this specific model can currently be bought. Check the live product page and retailer inventory for current stock, price, seller, and condition before making a purchase decision.

A meaningful comparison with another iron would need evidence on the same criteria—such as controls, soleplate, dimensions, shutoff behavior, maintenance, and live price—rather than wattage alone.
