How the TG1600 ProPlus auto-lift works
Oliso’s iTouch system responds to contact with the handle: when you hold it, the iron lowers; when you release it, the iron lifts. This changes the pause-and-reposition routine, especially when moving fabric between presses. It is the model’s defining feature, rather than evidence that it presses better than competing irons.

Oliso introduced the ProPlus as an updated version of its TG1600 in an April 16, 2021 launch announcement. The company said it revised the soleplate, steam system, scale management, weight distribution, and auto-lift responsiveness. Oliso markets the iron to quilters and sewists, while its steam and fabric settings also address ordinary garment ironing. Its listed features include a diamond ceramic-flow soleplate, a two-inch detailer tip for smaller areas, selectable fabric settings, built-in spray, and an anti-drip system. The company also describes triple-play steam for vertical and horizontal use and anti-calc technology.

Check the voltage, warranty, and product details for the exact regional model before buying. CHOICE’s accessible Australian-market listing shows 2000–2400 W, a 3.8 m cord, and a one-year warranty, rather than the US listing’s figures. Oliso’s troubleshooting document says the TG1600 switches off after 30 minutes if left untouched horizontally or vertically, and after 30 seconds when tilted. These automatic shutoffs are safeguards, not a substitute for careful use or unplugging the iron when it is not in use. Follow the manual for your generation and regional model.

Who should consider the TG1600 ProPlus?
It is a plausible fit if you want an iron that lifts when you release its handle and you expect to benefit from that workflow while sewing, quilting, or pressing garments. Its detailer tip and listed steam options may also matter for your projects. The case for choosing it is less clear if you are looking for a proven performance leader: the accessible independent review material does not disclose its comparative test results.
