The Geely EX2 has promising ingredients, but whether it is “cheap” depends on where you buy it and which trim you mean. In the UK, Geely Auto UK announced an on-the-road starting price of £20,990 for the EX2 Pro on 17 July 2026. That entry trim is rated for up to 155 miles; the UK Max and Ultra are listed at up to 214 miles WLTP. Those figures make the EX2 worth a closer look, not an automatic bargain: prices and range figures from different countries and test cycles cannot be compared directly.
What is the Geely EX2?
The EX2 is Geely’s compact electric car for overseas markets; in China, the same car is called the Xingyuan, according to Geely’s Brazil launch announcement. The name and specification can vary by market, so an EX2 listing in one country is not necessarily identical to a Xingyuan or EX2 sold elsewhere.

Geely’s international model page promotes an 11-in-1 intelligent e-drive, a liquid-cooled battery, an 8.8-inch instrument display, a 14.6-inch infotainment display, Flyme Auto, a 540-degree transparent-chassis view and wireless fast charging. These are manufacturer-listed features, not a guarantee that every feature is standard on every trim or available in every country. Check the local trim’s equipment list.

UK announced starting price
Geely Auto UK announced a £20,990 on-the-road starting price for the EX2 Pro on 17 July 2026. That is a UK price for the named entry trim at the time of the announcement; it does not establish the current price, stock or value of the car in another market.

Why “cheap” needs a local comparison
A fair value comparison needs cars sold in the same country, at similar trim levels, with on-the-road prices treated consistently, including any local incentives. It should also compare battery, range on the same test cycle, charging, standard equipment, warranty, service coverage and delivery availability. The available evidence does not establish matched competitor prices or current dealer inventory, so it cannot show that the EX2 is cheaper than a particular rival.
What range and battery do the published specifications give?
Range is trim- and market-specific. Do not treat these figures as interchangeable: UK mileage is presented with UK trim information, while the Indonesian brochure reports a different configuration using the NEDC test cycle.

The UK Pro’s 155-mile figure and the Max and Ultra’s 214-mile WLTP figure are not interchangeable trim claims. Nor should Indonesia’s 395 km NEDC figure be read as a UK WLTP estimate: it is tied to a different local configuration and test cycle. Published range is not a promise of real-world distance; the evidence cited here does not establish independent real-world range results.

Geely reported that, for January–December 2025, the EX2/Xingyuan ranked first in China across all car segments and first worldwide in its A/B segments. That is the manufacturer’s ranking claim, published on 6 February 2026; no underlying independent dataset is established here. Sales rankings may indicate strong demand, but they do not prove reliability, safety or driving quality.

Geely also said the EX2 launched in Brazil on 6 November 2025 and Thailand on 4 December 2025. Its Thailand launch announcement reported more than 1,000 pre-orders in three days. These are company-reported launch claims and demonstrate rollout at those dates, not current availability or delivery times.

- Confirm the exact local model name, trim, on-the-road price and whether the quoted figure is still current.
- Match the range claim to the trim and test cycle; avoid comparing NEDC, WLTP and unspecified figures as though they were equivalent.
- Get the local equipment list in writing, especially for display, driver-assistance, charging and connectivity features.
- Check the market-specific warranty, dealer and service coverage, delivery timing and any applicable incentives.
- Look for independent local road tests, crash-test ratings and longer-term reliability evidence before treating price or sales volume as proof of overall value.
