A foldable protector is a consumable surface layer. The flexible OLED panel beneath it is a separate component. Samsung’s U.S. repair table lists substantially higher prices for full-screen modules and other foldable-display repairs, but those amounts apply to a different job. Cracks, black spots, touch failures, crease damage or other panel symptoms should be assessed as display repairs rather than quoted as a $19.99 protector application.

Do not confuse the inner layer with outer-screen accessories
The Fold 8 has an exterior cover display that can use ordinary tempered glass, while its inner screen needs a flexible film. Third-party kits protect those surfaces but are not Samsung-authorized replacements for the factory inner layer.
