Measure the footprint, including the handle
The unit is 19.1 inches wide and 16.4 inches deep with its handle; the body depth without the handle is 15.2 inches. Allow for the door to open and follow the installation and clearance directions in the manual. The listed appliance dimensions alone do not establish the clearance a particular installation needs.

Check the turntable against your regular cookware
The documented glass turntable is 10.6 inches across. That gives a useful reference for comparing dishes, but it does not establish a maximum usable dish size. Consider the shape and handles of the dishes you commonly use, and consult the manual for cookware and operating guidance.
How practical are its controls?
Breville lists one-touch Reheat, Defrost, Popcorn and Beverage functions, plus a Food Menu with examples including pizza, vegetables and potatoes. The company says Reheat uses lower power levels and Defrost is intended to reduce overheating and drying at food edges. Those are descriptions of intended operation, not proof of cooking results compared with other microwaves.

What does “soft close” mean here?
Breville describes the door as “80% quieter” on its US product page. The page does not state the baseline, measurement procedure or comparison product, and the claim is not accompanied by an independent measurement. Treat it as the manufacturer’s advertised claim, not a verified guarantee of how much quieter the door will sound in your kitchen.

The soft-close mechanism is a tangible design feature, but the available product information does not establish a comparative noise result. If door noise is a deciding factor, hearing the appliance in person may be more informative than relying on the percentage alone.
