It may be worth considering if you need Switchboard Live’s managed multistream workflow, but the public information reviewed is not enough to recommend it for a channel that must stay live 24/7. Switchboard lists 24/7 Streams on its Enterprise plan, but does not publish a numeric Enterprise price on the pricing page reviewed. Its public pages also leave important questions about destination limits, archiving, uptime and recovery unanswered or inconsistent. Get the current quote and written operating details before committing.
What does Switchboard Live offer for continuous streaming?
Switchboard Live is a multistream-management service, not a complete production setup by itself. Its pricing page lists “24/7 Streams” as an Enterprise feature. Its FAQ and connection guidance say you need a live-streaming encoder and destination accounts; Switchboard accepts RTMP ingest from compatible streaming applications. The workflow therefore depends on an encoder producing a feed as well as Switchboard routing it to destinations.
The reviewed public information establishes that the plan includes a feature called “24/7 Streams.” It does not establish an uptime guarantee, a particular failover design, or tested reliability over a continuous 24/7 workload. A plan feature is not, by itself, proof that a stream will never be interrupted.
Which plan includes 24/7 streams, and what does it cost?
Switchboard lists 24/7 Streams on Enterprise. Its pricing page describes monthly or annual seat-based licenses, but the reviewed page does not state a numeric Enterprise price. You will need a quote to judge whether the cost makes sense for your channel.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Ask what the quoted seats cover, whether the 24/7 entitlement applies to the exact workflow you plan to run, and whether there are additional limits or fees. Compare the full quoted cost with the cost and operator effort of your current setup, rather than treating the Enterprise feature label as a complete description of the service.
What to verify before relying on it around the clock
Continuous operation and recovery
Ask Switchboard to describe what happens when its service, your encoder feed, or a destination connection fails. Request the applicable uptime commitment, recovery behavior, alerting and escalation path in writing. The public material reviewed does not establish those terms, so do not assume automatic recovery or uninterrupted service.

Destination and workflow limits
Switchboard’s homepage markets unlimited simultaneous destinations, while its FAQ says a single workflow can contain at most 30. Those statements may describe different scopes or reflect a documentation mismatch. Have Switchboard confirm the current applicable limit for your workflow and destinations before planning around the homepage wording.
Encoder compatibility and operator effort
Confirm that your existing software or hardware encoder can send a compatible RTMP feed, and ask what monitoring or operator intervention is expected during a long-running stream. The available guidance says to check that the encoder feed appears in Switchboard’s confidence monitor before selecting Go Live. A dedicated RTMP encoder is only a possible purchase path if you do not already have compatible equipment; no particular model is required by the evidence reviewed.

- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
Archiving and retention
Switchboard’s FAQ says it does not store or archive video in the described workflow, while the pricing page lists archives for certain plans and an archive-destination feature. Confirm which plan and workflow those archive references apply to, how long recordings are retained, and where you can retrieve them. Do not assume that routing a live feed also creates an archive.
Check YouTube eligibility and rules separately
Switchboard cannot remove YouTube’s channel requirements or policy obligations. YouTube’s live-streaming guidance says a channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days. Switchboard’s connection guide says live streaming must be enabled before authorization and activation can take up to 24 hours, so allow time for setup rather than expecting an immediate first broadcast.

YouTube’s published simultaneous-stream caps are 10 active streams per channel and 3 per stream key. These are platform limits, not Switchboard performance specifications; confirm that your planned arrangement fits them.
Live content must comply with YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service, and YouTube may restrict live-streaming privileges. Whether a particular loop, rebroadcast, or reused-content format is acceptable depends on its content and rights. The available information does not settle that question for a specific channel: make sure you have the necessary rights and assess the format against YouTube’s current rules before going live.

How to decide whether Switchboard is worth the quote
Switchboard is a plausible fit if you specifically need a managed multistream workflow and Enterprise’s 24/7 feature matches your operating needs. It is harder to justify on the public information alone if your decision depends on a known recurring price, guaranteed continuity, automatic recovery, or a clear archive policy.
- Consider it if the quote is acceptable, the confirmed workflow and destination limits fit your channel, and Switchboard puts support, recovery and uptime terms in writing.
- Pause before committing if you need proven uninterrupted operation, cannot tolerate unclear recovery responsibilities, or require archiving that has not been confirmed for your plan.
- Compare total operating cost across seat fees, encoder requirements and the staff time needed to monitor and troubleshoot the stream.
A cloud alternative to consider first
StreamNeo is a YouTube-only cloud service for keeping an uploaded video or playlist live 24/7: upload the video, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It is an alternative to try first if your main need is an always-on YouTube loop rather than managed multistreaming: it runs without a computer or home connection staying on, streams the uploaded file as made up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream.
Every slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB of storage per slot pooled across active slots, 24/7 looping and playlists, and support from the StreamNeo team. The same features apply on every plan; only the billing period changes. The first day is free, with no card required (one free day per account). Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. UPI and cards are accepted in India, with card checkout worldwide. For five or more slots, contact support.
