Do the buttons work?
The Power and Open buttons operate, and the controller can plug into the console. Reset is static, according to Tom’s Guide’s hands-on review; the set does not make every console control functional. These are display-model mechanisms, not electronics or a way to run PlayStation games. Tom’s Guide’s review describes its observations of the build.

How long does it take to build?
A Tom’s Guide reviewer reported spending five hours assembling the 1,911-piece set and described the experience as calming. That is one person’s build time, not an official estimate or a promise of how long it will take another builder. The piece count and the reviewer’s report suggest allowing a substantial session, particularly if you prefer to build slowly.
Will it fit your display space?
Plan for a footprint of 26 × 19 cm and a height of more than 6 cm. The footprint is the console model’s stated overall width and depth; leave additional accessible space if you want to remove and display the game dioramas separately. The compact height makes the model shelf-friendly, but the width and extra scenes still matter on a crowded desk or display shelf.

Is LEGO PlayStation 72306 worth it?
It makes the most sense for adult LEGO builders and PlayStation fans who value a recognizable piece of gaming nostalgia and want some interaction beyond a static model. The working Power and Open buttons, plug-in controller and detachable game scenes add variety to the display. It is a weaker fit if you want a playable console, a small desk ornament, or a set chosen mainly for a short build.
