Its published plans include cPanel, free SSL, daily backups, LiteSpeed, and LSCache, with four tiers that set different limits for sites and server resources. The advertised entry price is not consistent across the provider’s pages: one lists $3.47 per month when billed annually, while its homepage ties that price to a three-year commitment. Treat those as separate offers, and verify the checkout total and renewal terms before choosing.
What KnownHost shared hosting includes
KnownHost describes shared hosting as a managed service for smaller websites. Its hosting overview lists cPanel, free SSL certificates, daily backups, LiteSpeed, and LSCache. These are published features, not independently verified results from a performance or backup-recovery test. KnownHost’s shared hosting overview distinguishes this option from its VPS and dedicated hosting offerings, which are positioned for sites needing greater control or resources.

How the four shared plans differ
The provider’s plan comparison lists the following limits and advertised starting prices. The figures are plan-page values, not guarantees of renewal pricing. Check the current plan comparison before ordering, since prices and limits can change.
| Plan | Advertised starting price/month | Sites | CPU cores | Memory limit | Cloud storage | Email accounts | MySQL databases | Inodes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $3.47 | 1 | 1 | 1 GB | 10 GB | 5 | 2 | 100,000 |
| Standard | $6.48 | 5 | 2 | 2 GB | 25 GB | 25 | 5 | 200,000 |
| Professional | $9.98 | Unlimited | 4 | 4 GB | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited | 300,000 |
| Premium | $19.98 | Unlimited | 6 | 6 GB | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited | 600,000 |
The comparison also lists unlimited premium bandwidth, free SSL, a dedicated IPv4 address, and AMD EPYC processors for the tiers. PatchMan, an optional service on Basic and Standard, is included with Professional and Premium. “Unlimited” labels do not remove the need to review the provider’s current terms and any applicable usage restrictions.

Choosing a tier by workload
- Basic: The listed limits fit one site with modest needs: 1 CPU core, 1 GB memory, 10 GB storage, five email accounts, and two databases.
- Standard: Allows up to five sites and raises the listed resource limits to 2 CPU cores, 2 GB memory, and 25 GB storage.
- Professional: Lists unlimited sites, storage, email accounts, and databases, alongside 4 CPU cores and 4 GB memory.
- Premium: Keeps the listed unlimited site, storage, email, and database allowances while increasing the limits to 6 CPU cores, 6 GB memory, and 600,000 inodes.
For a growing site, compare the resource limits that matter to its workload rather than selecting only by the number of sites. KnownHost’s overview presents VPS and dedicated hosting as options for greater control or heavier workloads; the reviewed plan information does not establish a specific migration path or its cost.
What the advertised price means
KnownHost’s public pages show $3.47 per month with different billing qualifications. The homepage describes its $3.47 starting price as based on a three-year commitment, while the hosting overview gives the same starting figure for annual billing. These are vendor advertisements, not evidence that both terms will be available at checkout in every region or at the same time. The homepage and the hosting overview should be checked alongside the final order summary.

Before paying, confirm the full initial charge, the length of the commitment, the renewal rate, taxes or other applicable charges, and the terms for your region. The plan comparison’s “as low as” prices do not establish a guaranteed renewal price.

KnownHost documents support for server hardware management, operating-system updates and security patching, server-level backups, SSL certificate installation, DNS and nameserver troubleshooting, cPanel, and email troubleshooting on shared hosting. This describes the provider’s stated support scope; it does not establish a response-time guarantee or prove how a particular support request will be handled. Review the provider’s current shared-hosting details and confirm that the tasks you expect it to handle are included.

How to interpret the uptime claim and customer comments
KnownHost advertises a 99.99% uptime guarantee on its homepage. That is the provider’s guarantee claim, not an independently measured uptime result. The available information does not establish the guarantee’s exclusions, claim process, or remedy, so read the current terms before treating the percentage as a service commitment you can rely on. KnownHost’s homepage carries the claim.
Online comments offer only individual accounts. A Reddit discussion includes a positive report about service, price, and support; search results also surfaced a negative sales-chat account and other mixed hosting anecdotes. Those comments are not a representative customer survey, controlled performance evidence, or a basis for estimating satisfaction across KnownHost customers. No named independent benchmark or representative survey result is established by the available material. The Reddit discussion is one example of anecdotal feedback.

Who should consider it—and what to verify
- Potential fit: A personal site, blog, or small business website that suits shared hosting and benefits from cPanel and the provider’s stated management scope.
- Check capacity: Match your expected site count and resource needs to the plan’s listed CPU, memory, storage, email, database, and inode limits.
- Check the commitment: Resolve the billing-term difference between the provider’s public pages and review the checkout total and renewal rate.
- Check service terms: Confirm support responsibilities, any response expectations that matter to you, and the conditions attached to the uptime guarantee.
- Plan for growth: If you need more control or a heavier workload, compare the provider’s VPS and dedicated options rather than assuming a shared plan will scale indefinitely.
