Verdict: HOT WHEELS Infinite Rush looks like a good fit for Xbox Series X players who want to explore a toy-sized open world, collect cars and build custom tracks—not just race through a sequence of events. Its official feature set is broad, but the available hands-on assessment is from PS5, not Xbox. That means the game’s Xbox performance and feel remain unverified here.
What kind of racer is Infinite Rush?
Rather than focusing only on races, Infinite Rush combines arcade competition with free-roaming exploration. Milestone describes four toy-scale islands—Wheelswood, Tentacle Bay, Gearville and Drifty Temples—with settings ranging from skyscrapers and nature to industrial canyons and winding roads. Races and events sit alongside activities, hidden discoveries, rival crews and island bosses called Rush Masters. The official launch description says beating those bosses unlocks their cars.

The concept is a strong match for players who enjoy roaming between activities and having a collection goal. It may be less compelling if you want a tightly focused racer built primarily around structured events.
How do cars and progression work?
Milestone advertises more than 150 vehicles, divided into four classes: Versatiles, Drifters, Speeders and Titans. The classes are intended to support different approaches, including drifting through tight corners, accelerating on straights and using heavier power. The roster figure comes from the developer; it is not an independently audited count.

Events, activities and challenges provide ways to collect cars and build a Rush Squad. Customization includes visual liveries, stickers and wheels, as well as perks. In her PS5 Slim hands-on account, Tom’s Guide’s Nikita Achanta praised the range of classes and the collecting loop. That is one reviewer’s impression, not an Xbox-specific assessment.
Can you make your own tracks?
The Track Builder is a notable feature for players who want to create rather than simply race. Milestone describes placing track modules on terrain and buildings, routing courses around the environment and adding action markers for AI-controlled opponents. Xbox Wire says creations can be shared with the community.

Those are official feature descriptions. They establish that the tools and sharing are part of the game, but not how easy the editor is to use, what its limits are, or how active the community will be.

Milestone lists a single-player campaign, online multiplayer with cross-play, asynchronous and synchronous challenges, leaderboards and split-screen for up to four players. The official materials exclude Nintendo Switch 2 from full cross-play and specify Switch 2-specific sharing and race-field caveats; those qualifications should not be applied to Xbox.

Achanta reported enjoying split-screen with a partner during her PS5 Slim playthrough. That supports the appeal of the mode, but it does not establish how split-screen runs on Xbox Series X.
Is the racing challenging?
The clearest hands-on caution is difficulty. Achanta reported nearly 15 hours of play on PS5 Slim and said races felt too easy from early on. She also praised the exploration, activities and open-world presentation. Treat both as an individual reviewer’s experience: it is useful perspective, but it does not establish how the game will feel to every player or whether Xbox differs.

What is known about the Xbox Series X version?
Milestone lists Xbox Series X|S among the supported platforms, and Xbox Wire reported Early Access availability on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC on September 7, 2026. The official sources describe the feature set, but the hands-on account cited above tested PS5 Slim. There is no Xbox-specific evidence here for resolution, frame rate, loading times, stability, input latency, controls or split-screen performance.

Milestone’s page lists a September 29, 2026 update for Xbox as version 1.0.0.7. Its note says the Livery Editor launch dialogue was changed to clarify community-guideline standards; it does not describe performance, stability or gameplay fixes. The version number and note therefore should not be treated as evidence of technical improvements.

Who should consider playing it?
- A promising fit: players who want a toy-scale world to explore, a large developer-stated car roster, varied activities and creative track-building tools.
- Consider the caveat: players who need demanding races may want to account for the PS5 reviewer’s report that the challenge felt easy.
- Wait for Xbox-specific evidence: players whose decision depends on Series X performance, controls or split-screen behavior, since those points are not established by the cited hands-on coverage.
Milestone announced a worldwide release date of September 10, 2026, with Early Access beginning September 7 for Ultimate Edition preorders. Its game page, checked October 7, 2026, labels the title “Available now” and lists Xbox Series X|S.
