You can play its story alone or with a friend, fight customizable Skirmish battles, or take part in competitive matches.
How Dawn of War IV’s modes differ

Campaign co-op and competitive multiplayer are different ways to play: co-op lets you progress through the campaigns with a friend, while competitive matches pit players or teams against one another. The publisher says multiplayer modes will be available at launch.

What is confirmed about the campaign?
KING Art Games announced four full single-player/co-op campaigns, one for each faction. Warhammer Community’s August 19, 2025 announcement describes more than 70 campaign missions playable solo or with a friend. These are announced features, rather than a guarantee that every mission supports both formats in precisely the same way.

Release date and platform
As currently announced by publisher Deep Silver, Dawn of War IV is scheduled to launch on December 3, 2026, on Steam for Windows PC. Steam’s current store listing shows the same date. Release timing and platform plans can change; check the publisher’s official page and FAQ or the Steam listing for current information.
