Is BigRock WordPress Hosting Worth It? Features, Backups, and Support

BigRock’s managed WordPress offer includes advertised automatic updates, free SSL, and WordPress support, but automated backups and easy restores require a paid add-on. Here’s how to assess its speed claims, support information, and plan terms.

BigRock advertises managed WordPress hosting with automatic updates, free SSL, and 24/7 WordPress support, but its backup terms deserve particular scrutiny: the company recommends keeping your own backups and says automated backups and easy restores require a paid add-on. Its performance figures are vendor-published, not independently verified here, and scattered user reports cannot establish what most customers experience.

What BigRock says its managed WordPress hosting includes

BigRock describes this service as managed WordPress hosting built on NVMe storage and AMD EPYC servers. Its product page lists automatic WordPress core, theme, and plugin updates; server-level caching; a proprietary WordPress plugin; one-click installation; unmetered bandwidth; migration assistance; free SSL; and WordPress-focused support. These are product-page descriptions, not independently verified service outcomes. BigRock also claims 99.9% uptime, which should be read as a provider claim rather than a measured uptime record for customers.

The current product page advertises a 30-day money-back guarantee and included SSL. However, another BigRock page contains conflicting terms, including a statement that there is no money-back period and SSL is not included. Because the applicability of that page is unclear, check the exact plan, region, and checkout terms before buying; do not assume older listed prices or terms apply today. BigRock’s current WordPress hosting page is the relevant starting point.

Backups are the main caveat to check

BigRock’s FAQ says: “BigRock strongly recommends that you keep your own backups. While weekly backups are available, you should purchase Xcitium (paid add-on) for automated backups and easy restores of your database and files.” In practical terms, weekly availability should not be mistaken for a complete, convenient backup-and-restore plan. Confirm what is included with the specific plan, how you can access any available weekly backups, and what the add-on costs and covers before relying on it.

For a site where lost orders, posts, or customer data would be costly, arrange a separate backup process and check that you can restore from it. The provider’s own wording puts responsibility on the customer to keep personal backups.

How to interpret BigRock’s speed claims

BigRock’s page presents a comparison it says is backed by GTMetrix hosting comparison data from June 2026. It reports 0.20 seconds for time to first byte, 0.80 seconds for Largest Contentful Paint, and 0.90 seconds for fully loaded time. These figures describe BigRock’s published comparison, not measurements independently reproduced for this review.

The available information does not establish whether the compared sites used equivalent plans, regions, caching, or workloads. Those factors can substantially affect a WordPress speed result, so the figures are not enough to predict how a particular site will perform. BigRock’s 99.9% uptime figure is also a product claim; the available evidence does not provide an independent uptime measurement for this service.

Which data center should you choose?

BigRock offers India and US data-center choices and advises selecting based on where most visitors are located. Its guidance points to India for audiences mainly in India or the Asia-Pacific region, and the US for audiences in the United States, Canada, and Latin America. In general, choosing a location nearer to the audience can help reduce network distance, though it does not by itself guarantee a faster site.

The company says upgrades are supported within the same region and downgrades are not. Choose the region carefully and confirm migration or plan-change options if your audience or resource needs may change.

What is known about support and migration?

BigRock advertises 24/7 WordPress specialist support and says support can assist with migration once the account is active. Its phone sales line is listed as available from 9am to 8pm; those sales hours should not be confused with the stated technical-support availability. The product descriptions do not establish likely response times or how effectively support resolves a particular issue.

One Reddit discussion includes individual complaints about support and a report of degraded performance, including a commenter’s claim that static sites took three seconds to receive a response. These are anecdotes, not a representative survey or a verified test of current WordPress hosting. The posts may also refer to other BigRock hosting products, so they are a reason to ask concrete questions before purchasing—not proof of the typical experience. Read the Reddit discussion.

What to verify before you sign up

  • Backups: Ask what weekly backups mean for your plan and whether restoring them costs extra; price the paid add-on if you need automated backups and easy restores.
  • Plan terms: Confirm included SSL, refund eligibility, renewal price, billing period, and other terms for the exact regional plan at checkout, given the conflicting BigRock pages.
  • Support: Confirm the support channel for technical issues, whether migration assistance covers your current site, and what help is included after activation.
  • Location and growth: Select the data center closest to your audience and account for the stated same-region upgrade limitation and lack of downgrades.
  • Performance evidence: Treat the June 2026 comparison as a vendor-published reference, not a promise for your site. If speed is critical, seek measurements for a comparable configuration and audience.
