The iQOO 16 Geekbench listing is not proof of a global launch. It was a prelaunch test record for a China-market model, V2606A. iQOO released the phone in China on 29 September 2026, and launch coverage dated 30 September said no global release had been announced. This article separates what each clue shows from what it doesn’t.
Is the iQOO 16 launching globally?
Not officially, as of the latest coverage available (30 September 2026). Android Central reported after the China launch that iQOO had announced no plans for a global release and that the phone was available only in China. That is a dated status report. It says nothing certain about later plans, and regional availability can change quickly.

What the Geekbench listing revealed
Gadgets 360 reported in August 2026 that an unannounced vivo device, model V2606A, had appeared on Geekbench. The outlet tentatively tied it to the iQOO 16 based on earlier reporting. The listing was never confirmed by iQOO as an iQOO 16 test.

| Item | Reported value |
|---|---|
| Model number | V2606A |
| Geekbench version | 6.7.1 (Android AArch64) |
| Single-core score | 3,434 |
| Multi-core score | 9,334 |
| RAM shown | About 14.87GB (consistent with a 16GB configuration) |
| Operating system shown | Android 17 |
Treat these numbers as one early result from a test unit. They are not independently repeated retail results, and they don’t predict sustained gaming performance, thermals or what a global variant would deliver. Nothing in the listing points to an international model.

Why the “major hint” framing overreaches
Two separate clues have been blended together, and they involve different identifiers.
- V2606A (Geekbench): the China-model identifier. A Geekbench entry shows that a device is being tested, not where it will be sold.
- I2601 (IMEI database): in May, Gadgets 360 relayed a third-party claim that an IMEI record with this model number carried the iQOO 16 marketing name. The report speculated that India and other markets might get variants. It was not an official schedule or launch statement.
The IMEI entry is the only one of the two that even hints at regional variants, and it remains a database clue. Neither source confirms a global launch, a date or a market list.

Charging and 5G certification

If you’re outside China
- Don’t treat a grey-market China unit as equivalent to a future global model. Check network bands, warranty, software and services before buying.
- Wait for an official iQOO or regional partner announcement before assuming local pricing or a release date. No regional prices have been published in the sources reviewed.
- Be cautious about accessories. Case, protector and charger compatibility isn’t established until the accessory maker lists the model.
When comparing the iQOO 16 with rivals, judge region and bands, warranty, sustained performance and cooling, display, battery and charging, cameras, update support and local price. Independent head-to-head testing isn’t yet available, so any ranking would be premature.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesThe Bottom Line
The Geekbench entry for V2606A shows a China-model test unit, and the IMEI report is an unconfirmed database clue. A global iQOO 16 remains unannounced. Watch for an official iQOO announcement, not benchmark leaks.
