Apple’s education pricing covers listed categories such as Mac, iPad, and Apple Watch—not iPhone. Students may still lower the cost with a trade-in or a carrier promotion, but those offers have their own eligibility and plan requirements.
Does Apple offer a student discount on iPhones?
No. Apple’s U.S. education pricing information identifies Mac, iPad, and Apple Watch as eligible categories; iPhone is not listed. Apple’s 2026 College Student Offer does not change that answer. Its published offer ran from July 16 through September 24, 2026, and covered specified Mac and iPad purchases with an Apple Gift Card; iPhone was not an eligible product. That promotion has ended. Apple’s page currently displays the iPhone 17e from $599, but that is a listed starting price, not a student price, and prices can change. Who can use Apple’s education store?
Apple says current and newly accepted college students, their parents buying on their behalf, certain education employees, and homeschool teachers may shop its education store. For higher education, Apple describes eligible students as those attending or accepted to an institution in the United States or Puerto Rico. Education verification is required at checkout. These eligibility rules allow access to Apple’s education store; they do not make iPhones education-priced. Review Apple’s education sales policies.

What other ways can students save on an iPhone?
Trade in an eligible device
Apple offers trade-in credit toward a new device, but the amount depends on the device being traded in and its condition. Apple’s college storefront does not establish a fixed current iPhone trade-in value. Get a live quote for the specific device before comparing prices; do not assume the credit is a student benefit. Check Apple Trade In through the education storefront.
Check carrier promotions carefully
Carriers may offer iPhone promotions tied to qualifying plans, trade-ins, or other conditions. For example, T-Mobile’s promotions page lists a trade-in iPhone offer associated with qualifying plans, including Student Perks Savings. The offer can change, and the student-related plan benefit is not the same as an Apple education discount. Check the current promotion’s dates, eligible devices, plan requirements, and how credits are applied on T-Mobile’s promotions page.

Consider Apple Certified Refurbished inventory
Apple describes Certified Refurbished devices as pre-owned products refurbished by Apple. Whether a refurbished iPhone is available, and at what price, depends on live inventory; the cited information does not establish a current iPhone listing or price. Compare the specific model, condition, warranty, and return terms on Apple’s Certified Refurbished store.
How to compare the real cost of an iPhone deal
A large advertised credit may not mean the lowest total cost. Compare the entire purchase and service commitment, not just the phone’s advertised price.

- Required plan cost: Add the cost of any qualifying plan over the period you must keep it. A phone credit can be outweighed by a more expensive plan.
- Promotion conditions: Check trade-in eligibility, required new line or plan, bill-credit schedule, offer dates, and what happens if you change plans or leave early.
- Financing and lock status: Review the financing terms and whether the phone can be used with another carrier.
