On iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, Texture is adjusted in Camera under Photographic Styles. Choose a texture, set its intensity with the slider, and optionally add Grain. You can also refine a Photographic Style later in Photos if the picture was captured with High Efficiency enabled.
How to use Texture before taking a photo

Open the Camera app.

Tap Camera Controls, or swipe up from the camera modes at the bottom of the screen.

Tap Customize, then tap Texture.

Choose a texture and drag the slider to adjust its intensity. Select Standard for no texture.

To add film grain, tap Grain. Apple says Grain can be added to any texture.
Apple names Soft Skin, Glow, and Film as texture options. It describes Texture as a way to soften skin or add film grain, but does not quantify the effects or specify an ideal intensity. Preview the look on your subject and adjust the slider to taste; no one setting is established as best for every photo.
What Texture changes
Photographic Styles adjust specific colors in different parts of a photo to create a customized look. Texture adds a separate surface treatment: choose the option that suits the look you want, such as softer-looking skin, glow, or a film-like finish, then control its intensity. Apple does not document precise effects for every texture across different subjects or lighting conditions.

The selected Photographic Style applies automatically to photos you take. To remove or change it, open Styles again and choose Standard or another style. The Styles controls also include a reset button that returns the style to its default value.
Can you change Texture after taking a photo?
Yes. Apple says you can further refine Photographic Style values in Photos after capture on supported models. For those later edits, the photo must have been taken with High Efficiency enabled.

After capture, open the photo in Photos and refine its Photographic Style.

Which iPhone models have Texture controls?
Apple identifies Texture adjustment as a feature of iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Its technical specifications list Photographic Styles 3 for iPhone 18 Pro. The Texture instructions here apply to those Pro models; Apple does not identify it as a general feature across all iPhone models.
