The iPhone 15 and Nothing Phone (4a) take different approaches: Apple pairs its A16 Bionic chip and iOS experience with a 48MP main camera and a 2x telephoto option, while Nothing promotes a three-camera system, up to 70x ultra zoom and Nothing OS. Official launch and pre-order figures do not establish which phone costs less today: they refer to different countries, dates and configurations.

How do the cameras compare?
iPhone 15: a main camera with a 2x option
Apple’s September 2023 announcement describes a 48MP main camera and a 2x telephoto option, which it presents as providing three optical zoom levels. Apple also said the camera uses a 24MP default for high-resolution photos. These are Apple’s product claims, not independent image-quality findings. Apple’s iPhone 15 launch announcement
Phone (4a): a three-camera system and advertised ultra zoom
Nothing describes Phone (4a) as having a three-camera system and advertises up to 70x ultra zoom. That maximum zoom claim is not equivalent to Apple’s stated optical zoom levels, and it does not establish that images at the maximum zoom are more detailed or usable. Nothing’s Phone (4a) product page

What do the platforms and interfaces offer?
iPhone 15: iOS and Apple features
The iPhone 15 launched with iOS 17 and Apple’s A16 Bionic chip. Its Dynamic Island is among Apple’s headline interface features. The launch announcement establishes those launch details, but it does not give a current iOS support end date or a directly comparable performance result.

What is the price difference?
The available official figures are not a like-for-like price comparison. Apple’s September 2023 announcement listed iPhone 15 from $799 in the United States. That launch starting figure included a $30 connectivity discount requiring activation with AT&T, T-Mobile or Verizon. Apple’s U.S. launch pricing and conditions

Because those figures use different currencies, markets, dates and configurations, subtracting them would produce no meaningful current price difference. To compare what you would pay, check current unlocked prices in the same country and compare the closest available storage tiers.
