Yes—Apple lists iPhone 11, iPhone SE (2nd generation), and iPhone SE (3rd generation) as compatible with iOS 27. “iPhone SE” alone is not specific enough: Apple’s list does not include the first-generation SE. Before installing, check the exact phone in Settings > General > Software Update and back it up. Apple’s published compatibility information does not establish whether iOS 27 makes these phones faster, slower, or changes their battery life.

The first-generation iPhone SE is not named on Apple’s iOS 27 list. Identify the generation rather than relying on the “iPhone SE” name alone. Apple’s guide also says that feature and app availability may vary by iPhone model, region, language, and carrier; being compatible does not mean every feature is available on every supported phone. How to check the iOS 27 update available for your phone
- On the iPhone, open Settings > General > Software Update.
- Review the version shown for that device. Apple says this screen shows the latest iOS compatible with the model.
- If the phone is running an earlier version and Apple directs you to install it first, do that before trying to move to a later release.
- Back up the iPhone before installing. Apple’s download instructions recommend making a backup and say that only compatible updates are shown.
Apple’s iOS download instructions cover checking and preparing for an update. The phone’s Software Update screen is the practical place to confirm what is available for that particular device.

What version of iOS 27 did Apple list?
As of October 7, 2026, Apple’s security releases page listed iOS 27.0.1, dated September 28, 2026, and included iPhone 11 and later among the supported devices. That is a dated snapshot, not a promise that 27.0.1 will remain the latest version. Check Software Update for the current offer to your phone. The entry says, “This update has no published CVE entries”; that statement describes the page’s listing and does not establish that the release contains no changes or that it has no security relevance. Apple’s security releases page gives the release date and listing.

If your exact device is one Apple lists, you can use its Software Update screen to check for the compatible release. Back up before proceeding, and decide with the understanding that Apple says an installed iOS update cannot be downgraded to the previous version. Apple’s security releases information includes that downgrade limitation.

Will iOS 27 slow down an iPhone 11 or iPhone SE?
Apple’s compatibility and update information does not provide comparative speed, battery-life, or reliability results for iOS 27 on iPhone 11 or either supported iPhone SE generation. It therefore cannot support a prediction that an update will speed up or slow down a particular phone, or improve or reduce its battery life. Check the specific features you rely on separately, since Apple says feature availability varies by model and other factors.
