Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesNeither IONOS nor Simply.com is a proven overall winner: the better choice depends on your location, the plan’s full-term cost, and whether you need WordPress and developer tools or a simpler shared-hosting package. The US-facing Simply.com page makes the introductory-versus-renewal price difference especially important; IONOS advertises a broader WordPress feature set and 24/7 support. Treat both providers’ uptime and infrastructure statements as vendor claims, not independent performance results.
How to choose between IONOS and Simply.com
Start by matching the provider and plan to your requirements rather than choosing from a headline price or an overall score. Compare the checkout price for your country and the complete billing term, then verify storage, email, site and traffic limits, support, and the location of the infrastructure serving your site. For performance, look for a head-to-head test that discloses its plans, configurations, methods, and testing period.

- Consider Simply.com if you want a straightforward shared-hosting tier and have checked what it costs after the introductory term.
- Consider IONOS if its advertised WordPress tooling, developer access, or 24/7 support matches what you need.
- For either provider, confirm the exact plan’s limits and location-specific terms before paying.
What the listed Simply.com plans cost and include
The Simply.com US-facing homepage lists the following monthly prices, storage, and RAM. Its first-year prices are not the renewal prices; the table shows both so you can compare the listed rates across the term. Prices and features can change, and these are US-facing terms, not a promise of the price available in another country.
| Plan | First-year rate | Renewal rate | Server space | Mail-account space | RAM | Listed support |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic Suite | US$0.59/month for the first year | US$8.94/month | 10 GB | 2 GB | 512 MB | Form/ticket |
| Standard Suite | US$0.64/month for the first year | US$16.74/month | 20 GB | 8 GB | 1,024 MB | Form/ticket |
| Pro Suite | US$3.60/month for the first year | US$25.20/month | 100 GB | 16 GB | 1,536 MB | Phone |
The page also lists unlimited traffic, PHP or ASP.NET/.NET Core, Let’s Encrypt SSL, and WordPress tools. “Unlimited traffic” is the page’s wording; it does not establish that every plan has unlimited processing capacity or that every workload is supported. Check the current plan terms for site-count, usage, and other limits, along with the checkout total for your billing term.
What IONOS advertises for web and WordPress hosting
IONOS says its web-hosting plans include SSL, a domain, and professional email, and advertises one-click installation for applications including WordPress. Its web-hosting page also claims uptime above 99.99%, geo-redundant infrastructure, 24/7 support, and access to a personal consultant. These are statements by IONOS, not independently verified uptime or support measurements.
For WordPress hosting, IONOS describes WordPress as preinstalled and advertises AI tools, a domain, SSL, email, automated updates, DDoS shielding, and ISO-certified data centres. It also lists SSH, SFTP, WP-CLI, and PHP 8.2–8.4 on the page reviewed. Software versions, included extras, and plan limits can change, so check the live offer before choosing a package or moving a site.

Support and data-centre location
Simply.com’s About page says the company is part of team.blue and that its data centres are primarily in Denmark and elsewhere in Europe. It lists phone support on weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM and says it is closed on weekends. This may suit readers who value a European provider footprint, but it does not by itself establish the location of every service component or settle a particular data-residency requirement.
IONOS advertises 24/7 support and geo-redundancy. The wording describes the provider’s offer; it does not specify in the material cited here how a particular plan’s data is placed or whether that placement meets a reader’s legal or contractual requirements. Ask each provider about the exact plan and service locations if data residency matters.
What performance evidence can—and cannot—tell you
HostAdvice’s comparison, marked updated January 27, 2026, reports a 1.5-second fully loaded time and a 96% GTmetrix grade for IONOS, compared with 2.9 seconds and 76% for Simply.com. Those are HostAdvice’s reported figures, not results independently reproduced here. The available evidence does not establish that the plans, configurations, test conditions, or methodology were comparable and reproducible, so the numbers are not a reliable basis for claiming that one host will be faster for your site.
Similarly, IONOS’s uptime-above-99.99% language is a provider claim rather than a measured result established by the comparison. For a decision that depends on speed or availability, seek disclosed, comparable measurements and consider the site’s audience location, workload, and configuration.

A practical decision checklist
- Price the whole term. Compare the amount due now and the renewal price for the billing period you intend to keep, using the checkout for your country.
- Check capacity. Confirm server space, mail storage, site-count and traffic limits, and any workload or resource restrictions on the exact package.
- Match the tools to the site. If you need SSH, SFTP, WP-CLI, a specific PHP version, or preinstalled WordPress, confirm that the selected IONOS plan includes the required feature. If considering Simply.com, verify that its listed WordPress tools and plan limits fit your installation.
- Confirm support expectations. Compare the available channel and hours for the plan you will actually buy; the listed Simply.com tiers do not all show the same support channel.
- Ask about data location if necessary. Verify the relevant service and data locations with the provider instead of inferring residency from general infrastructure descriptions.
- Evaluate performance evidence carefully. Prefer measurements with disclosed methods, comparable plans and configurations, and a stated test period over a vendor promise or an unexplained score.
Sources and scope
Product and plan details above are drawn from the providers’ current pages and can change. Simply.com’s About page also says it has served more than 200,000 customers since 2004; that is a company-published figure, not an independent market statistic. The performance figures are attributed to HostAdvice and are presented only as reported comparisons, not as verified tests.
