The Ionmax Vienne ION630 is a 10 L/day desiccant dehumidifier, with that manufacturer-rated extraction measured at 20°C and 60% relative humidity. Ionmax also claims 42 m² coverage, a 4.2 L tank and noise levels of 35 dB on low and 46 dB on high. Those are specifications, not independently verified results. The model may suit someone seeking a desiccant unit for cooler conditions, but public evidence does not establish its real-world extraction, typical noise or value against comparable alternatives.
What the ION630 offers
Ionmax lists the Vienne ION630 as a domestic desiccant dehumidifier. Its current product listing gives the following manufacturer specifications; actual water collection depends on room conditions and how the appliance is used.

These figures come from Ionmax’s product listing; they are not independent measurements. A stated daily extraction rate is tied to its test conditions, and the listed coverage is not a guarantee that one appliance will control moisture throughout a home.

There is not enough public independent test data to give the ION630 a verified performance score or to confirm its extraction and noise claims in ordinary rooms. CHOICE has a model-specific listing with claimed specifications, including 10 L/day removal, 42 m² recommended room size, a 1–40°C operating range, two fan speeds and a two-year warranty. Its expert rating and detailed test measures are restricted to members, so no public score or test result can be cited here.

ProductReview’s search listing showed an average of 4.6 from 103 reviews, with some customers praising moisture collection and others complaining about noise. These are self-selected owner reports, not controlled tests; they cannot establish typical noise, reliability or measured performance. The manufacturer’s 35 dB low and 46 dB high claims are useful for comparison only when other products report noise under comparable settings and conditions.
Controls and humidity settings
The manual says the display shows room relative humidity while the unit is running. After you adjust the target, the selected level appears briefly. The selectable targets are 40%, 45%, 50%, 55% and 60%, in five-point steps. Modes are Auto, Low, High and Laundry/continuous.

Ionmax describes 40% as a super-dry setting for initially damp rooms, 50% for normal household use and 60% for comfort, quieter operation and energy saving. Treat these as the manufacturer’s operating guidance, not a universal humidity prescription or a guarantee against mould.
Water tank, continuous drainage and placement
The appliance collects water in its 4.2 L tank. When the tank is full, the indicator lights and the unit stops after a short interval. For continuous drainage, the manual specifies a hose with a 12 mm inner diameter. Route it downhill to a suitable drain without sharp bends, and ensure the tank is correctly installed.

Ionmax advises keeping the appliance upright on a flat surface with airflow unobstructed, away from heat sources, and out of confined, dusty or industrial environments. For moisture moving between rooms, the manual suggests a central spot such as a hallway or landing with internal doors open. That placement advice does not mean a single unit will necessarily manage every room.
After you switch the unit off using its button, the fan runs for about two minutes to cool internal components. The manual says not to unplug it during this cycle.

How to clean the ION630 filter
- Switch the unit off and wait for the fan to stop.
- Unplug the appliance, then remove the filter.
- Clean it gently with a smooth vacuum attachment, not a rotating brush. Alternatively, wash it and let it dry thoroughly.
- Refit the dry filter before operating the unit.
The manual recommends cleaning the filter at least once a month and warns against running the appliance without it: dust accumulation can cause malfunction and overheating. For storage, clean and dry the tank, allow the unit to drain for about a day, clean the filter, then store the appliance upright in a cool, dry place.

That is a manufacturer claim; the available public sources do not establish its lifetime or replacement economics. Routine care calls for cleaning the filter, not routinely buying a new one. Ionmax lists an ION630 filter bundle, but check its contents and exact compatibility before purchasing.

Is it the right dehumidifier for you?
The ION630’s desiccant design and CHOICE’s listed 1–40°C operating range may make it worth considering where cooler conditions matter. That does not establish that it will outperform a compressor model in a particular room. To compare it fairly with another dehumidifier, check:
- Whether it is a desiccant or compressor model and how the type suits your room temperature.
- Independently measured extraction at comparable conditions, rather than headline daily-capacity figures alone.
- Noise measured at comparable fan settings.
- Power use and likely cost at your local electricity tariff; the ION630’s claimed 420–740 W is not a running-cost estimate.
- Room size, tank capacity and whether continuous drainage is practical.
- Controls, timer, warranty terms and filter or parts availability.
Ionmax’s product page describes the ION632 as another 10 L/day desiccant model, but that shared headline figure is not enough to establish which model is better. Compare current, like-for-like details before choosing.
