Reports of USB-IF and PCI-SIG listings mark standards-compliance progress for parts associated with Intel’s next-generation Nova Lake platform. They do not confirm a retail launch, certify every Nova Lake product, or establish an official launch date. The reported Q1 2027 timing for Core Ultra 400-series desktop and mobile processors comes from leaks, not an Intel announcement.
What has reportedly been listed
Tom’s Hardware reported on September 29, 2026, that entries associated with Nova Lake appeared in USB-IF and PCI-SIG listings. The entries concern different components and interfaces; they should not be read as one platform-wide certification. Tom’s Hardware’s report attributes the device-ID details below to those listings.
Mobile Nova Lake-H: USB4 at 80 Gbps
The report identifies mobile Nova Lake-H processor device IDs D331 and D333 as listed for USB4 compliance at 80 Gbps. This is the USB4 entry in the reported evidence.
Desktop Nova Lake PCH-S: USB 3.2 Gen 2 up to 20 Gbps
A separate reported USB-IF entry concerns desktop Nova Lake PCH-S chipset device ID 6E6E, listed for USB 3.2 Gen 2 at up to 20 Gbps. That is not a USB4 listing, and it concerns the chipset rather than the mobile processor IDs above.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
PCI-SIG: chipset listings and an uncertain processor identity
Tom’s Hardware reports that Intel 900-series chipset device IDs associated with Core Ultra 400-series Nova Lake-S have appeared on the PCI-SIG Integrators List since April 2026. Separately, the report describes an unidentified Intel processor with device IDs D461, D465, and D467–D46A that passed interoperability testing with a PCIe 5.0 x16 root complex in early August 2026. The report explicitly says it is not certain that this processor is a Nova Lake desktop CPU.
How to interpret the interface figures
| Reported item | Component or identity | Interface and reported rate |
|---|---|---|
| USB-IF listing | Mobile Nova Lake-H processor IDs D331 and D333 | USB4, 80 Gbps |
| USB-IF listing | Desktop Nova Lake PCH-S chipset ID 6E6E | USB 3.2 Gen 2, up to 20 Gbps |
| PCI-SIG interoperability entry | Unidentified Intel processor IDs D461, D465, D467–D46A | PCIe 5.0 x16 root complex |
These are reported interface capability and compliance details, not independent measurements of real-world data transfer. The USB rates refer to different standards and components, while the PCIe entry describes root-complex interoperability—not a USB port or a confirmed Nova Lake CPU model. They therefore are not directly comparable throughput results.

What a standards listing establishes—and what it does not
USB-IF says products that pass its compliance program are considered certified, are added to its Integrators List, and gain the right to license USB-IF logos. Its compliance-program guidance also describes Qualification by Similarity: sufficiently similar products may be added without repeating tests, while significant differences can require testing, with the compliance review board making that determination.
So a reported listing is meaningful evidence of a compliance milestone for the listed product or ID. It does not establish that every CPU, motherboard, or consumer system in the Nova Lake family has passed testing. Nor does it announce final retail names, availability, or a shipping date.

USB4 is not proof of Thunderbolt 5 certification
A USB4 listing should not be described as complete Thunderbolt certification. Allion Labs’ April 2026 update presents separate Thunderbolt certification requirements and test paths for Nova Lake desktop and mobile variants. The two programs and their evidence should be kept distinct. Allion Labs’ 2026 New Spec Update provides that context.

Tom’s Hardware says the latest leaks point to a Q1 2027 launch for Core Ultra 400-series desktop and mobile processors. That is a reported, leak-based window—not a launch date confirmed by Intel. The compliance reports do not independently establish when consumers will be able to buy Nova Lake products.
