To add YouTube TV to an LG Smart TV, press Home on the remote, open the LG Content Store, search for YouTube TV, download the app, then save it to the home screen. YouTube TV lists LG smart TVs from 2017 onward as supported, but check the store on your particular TV because support is not guaranteed for every model in those years.
Install YouTube TV from the LG Content Store
- Press the Home button on your LG remote.
- Open LG Content Store.
- Search for YouTube TV. It is a separate app from the regular YouTube app.
- Select the YouTube TV app and download it.
- Save the app to your home screen for easier access.

Which LG TVs support YouTube TV?
YouTube TV’s supported-device guidance lists LG smart TVs from 2017 onward. This is a model-year guideline, not a guarantee that every LG set from 2017 or later will offer the app. Check whether YouTube TV appears in the LG Content Store on your TV. The supported-device list also includes Google TV devices.
If YouTube TV does not appear
- Check the app name: Search for “YouTube TV,” not just “YouTube.” The regular YouTube app is different.
- Check the TV’s model year: The listed LG compatibility guidance starts at 2017. A firmware update cannot make an unsupported TV compatible.
- Update the TV firmware: YouTube TV recommends using the latest firmware; then check the LG Content Store again.
If your LG TV cannot install YouTube TV, a compatible Google TV streaming device is a possible alternative. YouTube TV lists Google TV devices as supported, but confirm current compatibility for any device before buying.
