How to install the NBA app on an LG Smart TV
- Connect the TV to the internet and press Home on the LG remote.
- Open Apps on webOS 22. On some older versions, including webOS 5, open LG Content Store. Names and locations can vary by webOS version.
- Select the search icon and search for NBA.
- If the NBA app appears for your TV model and region, open its listing and select Install.
- When installation finishes, select Launch and sign in with the NBA ID connected to your League Pass subscription.
These are LG’s general app-installation steps; they do not guarantee that the NBA app is offered for every LG TV or country. Check availability for your model and country in the LG Support app lookup or directly in the TV’s store.

Is the NBA app available on LG TVs?
NBA’s published supported-device list names Samsung TVs from 2018 onward, but does not name LG TVs. That means NBA’s list does not confirm native LG TV support; it does not prove that the app can never appear in an LG Content Store. Availability can depend on the TV model and region, so the store listing on your own set is the practical check.

Try AirPlay from an Apple mobile device
If your LG TV supports AirPlay, NBA documents streaming from an iPhone or iPad to the TV. Put the mobile device and TV on the same Wi-Fi network, then use AirPlay from the NBA app. NBA says, “NBA League Pass does not support Airplay through MacBooks and other PCs.” See the NBA AirPlay instructions for setup and troubleshooting.

Use a supported streaming device
You can also run the NBA app on a connected streaming device supported in your country. NBA lists these requirements for two common options:

Fix common LG Content Store or installation problems
- Search the store for the exact TV model and country, since app availability varies by both.
- Confirm the TV is connected to the internet and signed in to an LG account.
- Check the TV’s LG Services Country setting and accept any required user agreements.
- Check available storage and make room if needed, then try installing again.
- Keep the TV software and NBA app up to date. LG provides model- and region-specific guidance in its app troubleshooting and lookup resources; NBA also advises using current software for its supported-device experience.
Installing the app does not include League Pass
The NBA app is free to download and use, but subscription content requires a paid League Pass subscription and sign-in with the NBA ID associated with it. Purchase options vary by platform and market; see NBA’s device and platform information.
League Pass is intended for out-of-market games, and blackouts can prevent live viewing of local broadcasts or nationally televised games depending on your location. If access to a particular team or matchup is the reason you are subscribing, check NBA’s current location and blackout information first.
