For most CORSAIR peripherals, installing the software means downloading iCUE from CORSAIR’s official downloads page, running the installer, and restarting your computer. “Driver” can mean something different, though: iCUE is desktop configuration software, some CORSAIR gaming PCs have separate driver downloads, and supported devices may receive firmware updates. Choose the item that matches your device and task rather than installing a generic driver utility.
What does “CORSAIR driver” mean?
CORSAIR separates software from device drivers and firmware on its downloads page. iCUE is used to configure supported peripherals and gaming PCs—for example, lighting, performance, key assignments, and audio settings. It does not mean every CORSAIR device or feature is supported. If you own a CORSAIR gaming PC and need a specific hardware driver, select the exact product on the downloads page and use its listing rather than substituting a peripheral driver.

Firmware is different again: it is device software updated for supported hardware, not the iCUE installer. Check the product-specific download and compatibility information before choosing a file or update method. CORSAIR says its software and drivers are not compatible with mobile devices; download iCUE from a PC or Mac.

How to download and install iCUE
- On a PC or Mac, open CORSAIR’s downloads page and select the iCUE download. Avoid third-party driver-download sites.
- Run the downloaded installer. Choose an installation language and follow the on-screen prompts.
- When installation finishes, click Finish and restart the computer.
- Open iCUE and connect your supported CORSAIR device. Use the app to configure the options available for that device.
If the installer does not complete, CORSAIR’s troubleshooting guidance suggests updating the operating system, running the installer as administrator, and avoiding VPN or tunneling services during installation. Interface labels and available downloads can change, so use the current official page rather than relying on an older installer version.

Check operating-system compatibility first
CORSAIR’s compatibility article, last updated April 17, 2024, lists Windows 10 64-bit or newer and 1.5 GB of disk space; for macOS, it lists a 2015-or-newer system, macOS 12.7 or newer, and 500 MB. Those are the vendor’s dated published requirements, not independently verified current minimums. Check the current iCUE download page and your product’s requirements before installing. The same article says iCUE is unsupported on Linux and consoles.
Compatibility can also vary by device and feature. A device that works with iCUE may not expose every setting on every operating system; consult the product-specific information if a control or feature is missing.

Update device firmware separately
Do not treat a firmware update as part of the initial iCUE installation. CORSAIR says firmware updates can improve device performance or address bugs, and documents several update routes. Use only a method offered for your model:

CORSAIR also documents a device-settings route for iCUE 4 or newer; menu paths may differ by version.
- Browser-based utility: Use this only if CORSAIR confirms the device is compatible. Close iCUE, authorize device access when prompted, select the device, and follow the browser instructions.
- Manual update when directed by support: If the device says “Up-to-Date” but CORSAIR Support directs a manual action, use the offered Force Update option or firmware supplied by Customer Support. Do not obtain firmware from an unrelated site.
For a stable connection, connect the device directly to the PC rather than through a hub, switch, or dock. For a wireless product, connect both the device and its dongle directly. Keep the computer connected to the internet and do not disconnect the device during the update. CORSAIR’s firmware guidance was updated July 15, 2026; use its current instructions for the exact device and iCUE version.

Fix a device that is not detected in iCUE
If a device stopped appearing after moving from one iCUE version to another, CORSAIR’s specific troubleshooting sequence starts with the connection and then repairs iCUE on Windows. This procedure is scoped to that update-related detection problem; it is not a universal fix for every device or operating system.
- Connect the device directly to the PC, bypassing a USB hub, switch, or pass-through. For wireless products, check the dongle connection as well.
- In Windows, open Apps & features, select CORSAIR iCUE 5 Software, open the three-dot menu, and choose Modify.
- Allow iCUE to complete its automatic repair, then check whether the device appears.
- If it remains undetected, follow CORSAIR’s clean uninstall and reinstall instructions. If that does not resolve the issue, contact CORSAIR Customer Support.
For other detection problems, check the device’s product-specific connection and compatibility guidance before assuming iCUE needs reinstalling.

Clean reinstall without losing profiles
A clean reinstall can help when local files are corrupted or iCUE has persistent performance or behavior problems. Before removing anything, export or back up profiles you want to keep. CORSAIR’s June 18, 2026 instructions describe its iCUE Removal Tool for an iCUE 5 reinstall and a manual removal alternative.
