The IET’s historical list records the same three people under 2025. The title’s stated count and year therefore remain unverified.
What the IET announcement confirms
The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) says its newest Honorary Fellows were welcomed at a special event at IET London: Savoy Place in November 2025. Its announcement names Nicolas Hamilton, Dawn Bonfield and David Parr. The IET’s historical list also places those three names in its 2025 entry.

Who are the three fellows?
Nicolas Hamilton
The IET describes Hamilton as a British racing driver recognised for helping the public understand STEM and championing inclusion in motorsport and beyond. The announcement notes that he debuted in the British Touring Car Championship in 2011 and achieved a career-high P6 finish at Donington Park in 2023.

Dawn Bonfield MBE FREng
Bonfield is a materials engineer and EDI advocate. The IET credits her with founding Towards Vision and the Magnificent Women social enterprise, creating International Women in Engineering Day, leading the Women’s Engineering Society as president, and serving as president of the Commonwealth Engineers’ Council.
David Parr
Parr is a Chartered Engineer and IET Fellow with more than four decades of engineering leadership. The IET says he chaired its Professional Development Advisory Committee and led the introduction of mandatory continuing professional development in 2017. He continues as a volunteer advisor and mentor.

Does this confirm four new Honorary Fellows for 2026?
No. The IET announcement and historical list support a three-person cohort recognised in 2025. A separate IET release about the 2026 New Year Honours mentions Professor Polina Bayvel as an IET Honorary Fellow, but describes her as already holding that distinction; it does not establish her as a new 2026 recipient or identify a four-person cohort.
Accordingly, the available official sources do not verify the supplied title’s count or year. They establish the three names and 2025 recognition; they do not establish whether a separate announcement naming four new fellows for 2026 exists.
