IdentityIQ may be worth considering if you want identity alerts, credit monitoring, and restoration support in one subscription. Whether it is worth the cost depends on the plan’s bureau coverage, report frequency, included extras, and the price and renewal terms shown at checkout. Monitoring can alert you to some activity, but it cannot prevent identity theft or guarantee that every misuse will be detected.
How much does IdentityIQ cost?
IdentityIQ’s plan page lists Secure Basic at $6.99 per month and Secure Max at $29.99 per month, excluding the VPN and antivirus add-on. The page also lists annual billing options and separate prices for plans that include those extras. These are page-listed prices, not a guarantee of the amount any particular customer will see at checkout; confirm billing cadence, add-ons, taxes, and renewal price before enrolling. Compare the plans by coverage and cadence
IdentityIQ’s plan names and bundles can change. Its current page differentiates tiers by the number of credit bureaus monitored, how often reports or scores are provided, and which additional services are included. The listed cadence ranges from daily monitoring for Secure Basic to annual three-bureau reports for Secure Plus, bi-annual three-bureau reports for Secure Pro, and monthly three-bureau reports and scores for Secure Max. The plan page
- Bureau breadth: some listed plans cover one bureau; higher tiers list three-bureau monitoring.
- Report frequency: check whether the plan offers monitoring, reports, or scores, and how often each is provided.
- Included features: identity and application alerts, dark web monitoring, restoration services, family coverage, and device-security add-ons vary by plan.
- Billing: compare monthly and annual options, then verify the renewal terms shown at checkout.
What does IdentityIQ include?
IdentityIQ advertises application monitoring, Social Security number alerts, dark web and internet monitoring, credit monitoring, identity restoration, lost-wallet assistance, and insurance benefits. These are vendor-described features, not a guarantee that every instance of misuse will be found or resolved. IdentityIQ’s service description

Monitoring, restoration, and insurance are different benefits
Monitoring is intended to surface certain activity through alerts. Restoration services provide assistance after an identity issue. Insurance is a separate, policy-governed benefit: IdentityIQ advertises up to $1 million for certain covered expenses, but that headline amount is not cash automatically available to every subscriber. Coverage depends on the applicable policy’s terms, conditions, and exclusions. IdentityIQ’s service description
IdentityIQ also says its service scans “more than 250,000 databases in 25+ languages.” That is the vendor’s description of its scanning, not an independently verified measure of effectiveness. IdentityIQ’s service description

Does IdentityIQ have a free trial?
IdentityIQ says: “We do not typically offer a free trial, but we do periodically have special offers or promotions.” Treat a promotion as a temporary offer, not a standard free trial, and check the price and renewal terms attached to the offer. IdentityIQ’s FAQ
What to know about the automatic-renewal settlement
Caldwell v. Identity Intelligence Group, LLC concerned allegations about automatic-renewal disclosures for a defined group of California consumers and historical IdentityIQ memberships. The defendant denied wrongdoing; the court had not decided which party was right; and the parties settled without an admission of liability or wrongdoing. The settlement administrator says the claim-submission deadline has passed. This historical settlement is not a finding that IdentityIQ violated the law and does not establish the company’s current signup practices. Official settlement administrator
Can you check whether your Social Security number is being used?
No single monitoring subscription can provide a complete, real-time account of every use of your Social Security number. IdentityIQ advertises SSN alerts, but alerts are a monitoring feature, not proof that all uses will be detected. You can also review your credit reports and act on unfamiliar accounts or inquiries. A paid service may suit someone who values consolidated alerts and access to restoration assistance. It is less compelling if you mainly want basic prevention steps or are paying for features you will not use. Decide based on the specific plan’s coverage, report cadence, add-ons, and checkout terms—not just the insurance headline or a promotional price.

Several useful precautions do not require an IdentityIQ subscription:
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
- Use unique passwords for important accounts.
- Secure your wallet and physical identification documents.
- Shred documents containing personal information when they are no longer needed; a cross-cut shredder is one option.
- Monitor credit reports and follow up on unfamiliar activity.
These measures can reduce exposure or help you notice suspicious activity, but they do not guarantee protection from identity theft. IdentityIQ’s FAQ
