Here, “agentless” describes where the deployment control runs: the CLI connects to the server over SSH instead of depending on a general-purpose management agent. It does not, by itself, tell you what software the server needs or how an application is packaged.
Why build a deployment CLI around SSH?
My motivation was personal: I wanted to keep control of my server and its deployment workflow. “Every PaaS wanted to own my server” describes that frustration, not a verified claim about every platform. The architectural choice was to make the developer-side CLI initiate a connection to the target server over SSH.

That changes where deployment control lives; it does not automatically make deployment simpler, cheaper, more reliable, or more secure. Those outcomes depend on the implementation and on who takes responsibility for the server, application runtime, secrets, logs, and maintenance.

What “agentless” does—and does not—mean
In this context, agentless means the workflow is controlled through an SSH connection rather than through a general-purpose resident management agent. It is not a promise that the server has no additional software or services. A deployment may still require a container runtime, a reverse proxy, a webhook, or another service.

For example, Graft describes an SSH-based engine for existing Docker Compose projects, along with infrastructure setup and a small CI/CD webhook. Those are claims in Graft’s project documentation, not independent measurements or evidence about my CLI. The exact server footprint must be established from the implementation being discussed.
SSH is the control path, not a packaging strategy
Connecting over SSH does not dictate how an application reaches the server. The deployment artifact might be a container image or a compiled executable, and building can happen locally, remotely, or in CI. Those are separate architectural decisions.

- Built for Heavy-Duty Shifts — Unlike Vinyl, PU Leather Won't Crack: This server books for waitress for Reinforced odorless PU leather with double-stitched seams resists tears and scratches far better than vinyl, which cracks and peels over time. The textured surface adds grip and an anti-slip effect on counters and tabletops for steadier writing. The thickened rigid writing surface stays perfectly flat for comfortable order-taking in high-traffic dining rooms and busy bars. This waitress book design works for both left- and right-handed users — built to withstand fast-paced service without warping.
- Wipes Clean in Seconds — Water-Resistant Surface, Hand Wipe Only: This black server book spill-resistant surface wipes clean with a damp cloth between tables — coffee spills and food grease come right off. Avoid alcohol-based sanitizers; for stubborn oil stains, wipe with mild soapy water, let sit 2 minutes, then wipe. This waitress book is not machine washable — hand wipe only to preserve the PU leather finish. Maintains a sharp, professional look shift after shift.
- 7 Compartments Keep Cash, Cards & Tips Organized: This serving book Secure zipper pocket (1,000+ open/close cycles) is designed for coins and small bills (For maximum security, keep coin pocket moderately filled) — use the main compartment for unfolded bills up to 6.75 inches. Clear receipt windows are made from thickened, scratch-resistant PVC for lasting clarity and durability. The waitress books for servers Clear card slots that hold multiple cards and an elastic pen loop keep everything visible and accessible. Fits standard 3.5" x 6.75" guest checks without folding, so cash, cards, and order slips stay organized during rush hours.

The elastic pen loop stretches to fit both standard pens and jumbo markers, so you always have your preferred writing tool ready. The waitress book Holds all shift essentials without adding weight or bulk.(Pen is not included and must be purchased separately)
- Professional Server Gear for Waitstaff, Bartenders & Cashiers: Streamline orders, tips, and payments with a server book built for waitstaff, bartenders, cashiers, and fast-food crews — not just waitresses. This server books for waitress is Ideal for fine dining, busy cafes, high-volume bars, and fast-food counters. A practical gift for new staff or a reliable upgrade for seasoned teams who demand professional appearance and secure cash handling. This waitress book built for daily professional use with durable construction that holds up shift after shift.
| Approach | Documented deployment model | What the example shows |
|---|---|---|
| Teploy | Single Go binary deploying Docker applications over SSH | Its project documentation describes health checks, traffic switching, automatic rollback, Caddy-based HTTPS, and optional services including Postgres and Redis. These are project claims, not independent benchmarks. Teploy documentation |
| Gofasta | Remote deployment either by building and transferring a Docker image, or by cross-compiling a Go binary and managing it with systemd | The two modes illustrate that SSH-based deployment can support different packaging and runtime choices. Gofasta documentation |
| Graft | SSH-based deployment workflow centered on existing Docker Compose projects | Compose can be a compatibility advantage when a project already uses it, but it also makes Compose part of the expected workflow. Graft documentation |
| Piku | Git-push deployment to a user’s server, using standard tools | A lightweight self-hosted-platform pattern to consider instead of a purpose-built CLI. Piku project |
These projects document different feature sets; they are not a controlled head-to-head comparison. Their documentation does not establish how my CLI builds, transfers, or runs an application.
Design decisions an agentless CLI still has to make
What runs on the server?
Specify every prerequisite and persistent component: for example, whether the target needs Docker and Compose, systemd, a reverse proxy, or a CI/CD webhook. “No agent” is too broad to answer this question on its own.

Where does the build happen?
A CLI could build an image locally and transfer it, ask the server to build, or use CI to produce and deliver the artifact. The choice affects required tools, network traffic, and where build credentials and other secrets are handled. The available project descriptions show that SSH can accompany different models; they do not establish which one my CLI implements.
How are TLS and safe releases handled?
HTTPS setup, health checks, traffic switching, and rollback are distinct features. A project that provides one does not necessarily provide the others, and none should be inferred from “agentless.” Teploy documents several of these functions; Graft documents deployment and rollback workflows. Those descriptions are not independent verification of reliability.

Who owns routine operations?
With a server you manage, someone still needs to maintain the operating system and runtime, control SSH access, protect secrets, monitor logs, and plan backups. A CLI can automate selected deployment steps, but it does not transfer those responsibilities to a platform—or eliminate them.

When this architecture makes sense
An SSH-driven CLI may fit when you already have a server, want to keep deployment control in a tool you run, and can manage the server’s ongoing requirements. A Compose-centered workflow may suit an application already expressed in Compose; a native-binary path may be more appropriate when the app is built and run as an executable.
If you want a ready-made self-hosted deployment workflow rather than a custom CLI, Piku’s documented git-push model is another pattern to evaluate. Compare actual server prerequisites, build location, secret handling, TLS, release checks, rollback, and maintenance duties—not just whether a project calls itself agentless.
What the available evidence does not establish
The cited project pages describe other deployment tools, not the code or release notes for my CLI. They do not verify its SSH behavior, server-side components, supported operating systems, security model, build process, rollback behavior, or test results. Nor do they establish a cost, reliability, or performance advantage over PaaS products. Those claims require evidence from the CLI itself and, for comparative claims, comparable measurements.
