The HYTE Y50 RGB is a roomy, glass-forward ATX case with four included ARGB fans, broad motherboard support and a $99.99 launch MSRP. Its appeal is clear: a panoramic showcase build without paying for every feature of a more elaborate Y-series case. The trade-offs matter too: it is physically large, the GPU mounts horizontally by default, and component clearances need checking before you buy.
What the HYTE Y50 RGB is—and who it suits
HYTE describes the Y50 RGB as an “Essential Aesthetic Case”: a dual-chamber mid-tower built around three-piece panoramic glass, a floating base and a stair-stepped floor. The design puts the components on display while the second chamber gives cables and the power supply a separate area. It is best suited to builders who want that showcase look and plan a conventional horizontal GPU installation.

The case measures 473 × 288 × 461 mm, so check the desk or shelf footprint as well as the internal component fit. HYTE lists Snow White, Pitch Black, Black Cherry, Strawberry Milk and Taro Milk colorways. Its August 2026 announcement set a $99.99 MSRP. The official listing showed that same price and an estimated October 23, 2026 ship date when accessed October 7, 2026; price, stock, color availability and delivery estimates can change.
Is the HYTE Y50 RGB worth it?
At its $99.99 launch MSRP, the combination of panoramic glass, four included ARGB fans and support for several motherboard sizes makes the Y50 RGB a compelling starting point for a display-focused build. HYTE says the side assembly uses reverse-blade fans and describes the included arrangement as three 120 mm fans on the side and one 120 mm fan at the rear. Those inclusions reduce the need to buy basic case fans separately, though they do not establish how the case performs thermally or acoustically.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The value is less straightforward if your priority is vertical GPU presentation: a vertical GPU riser is not included. The Y50 RGB supports horizontal mounting; a vertical mount and riser would need separate compatibility checks and could add to the build cost. Also account for the case’s size and the clearance limits below before treating the low launch price as a complete value calculation.
HYTE’s announcement quotes Senior Director of Sales and Marketing Jeffrey Cheng calling the model a more accessible entry to the brand’s case line, with features streamlined for consumers who do not need every feature of earlier Y-series and X-series launches. That is the manufacturer’s positioning, rather than an independent assessment.

How much cooling hardware can it take?
On paper, the Y50 RGB offers substantial fan and radiator placement flexibility. The specifications establish supported sizes and positions, not measured temperatures or noise levels.
| Location | Fan support | Radiator support |
|---|---|---|
| Top | Three 120 mm or two 140 mm fans | Up to 410 mm long and 46 mm thick |
| Side | Three 120 mm fans | Up to 410 mm long and 83 mm thick |
| Rear | One 120 mm fan | One 120 mm radiator |
| Bottom | Two 120 mm fans | Not stated in HYTE’s published specification |
HYTE lists a maximum fan speed of 1,500 RPM. If you are planning a radiator build, compare both its length and thickness to the position limits, then verify clearance with the rest of your parts. The generous side radiator thickness allowance does not by itself predict cooling results.

What do the reviews say about building in it?
In a hands-on report published August 25, 2026, Tom’s Hardware’s Myles Goldman describes the build as straightforward, citing clearance around the motherboard tray and cable cutouts. He also points to the dual-chamber cable space and a front-panel I/O cable consolidated into one block. Goldman notes that the Y50 RGB drops the vertical GPU riser and that the clear glass makes cable tidiness and component presentation especially visible. Those are observations from that report, not claims of personal testing here.

Storage and port counts are manufacturer specifications. If your build depends on several larger drives, remember that the 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch positions are not all independent: four of the smaller-drive positions are shared with the 3.5-inch bays.
What to check before ordering
- Measure the space: Make sure the 473 × 288 × 461 mm chassis suits the intended desk or shelf location.
- Check each component against the limits: Verify GPU length and width, CPU cooler height and PSU length, along with room for connectors and cable bends.
- Confirm motherboard layout: Standard E-ATX, ATX, micro-ATX and ITX boards are listed, as are the named rear-connect ATX ecosystems. For a rear-connect board, use the shorter 225 mm PSU limit and check routing needs.
- Plan cooling as a whole: Match radiator length and thickness to its intended location, then confirm fan and component clearances for your exact arrangement.
- Decide how the GPU should look: The included arrangement does not provide a vertical riser. If vertical mounting is important, verify a separate mount and riser for your GPU and budget for them.
- Recheck the listing: The October 7, 2026 price and estimated ship date are a snapshot, not a promise of today’s price, stock or delivery date.
Verdict
The HYTE Y50 RGB makes the most sense for builders who want a large panoramic showcase case, value four included ARGB fans and can stay within its published component limits. Its broad motherboard support and substantial radiator fit options are useful on paper, while the missing vertical GPU riser and space demands are meaningful compromises. Decide based on your parts, desired GPU orientation and current checkout price—not the glass alone.
