Then check whether you used the right capture method for the page state, whether the font is available to Figma, and whether a local import can reach its external assets. These checks address common causes, but html.to.design does not promise an identical reproduction of every site.
1. Match the viewport and theme
A page can change its layout at a responsive breakpoint, so a different capture width may change columns, navigation, image sizes, and text wrapping. Theme differences can also alter colors and other visible details.

- Check the width used for the import and compare it with the live page at that same width.
- Choose the matching light or dark theme in the import options.
- For a public mobile page, the documentation lists a 390 px preset. Custom viewport width is a PRO feature. For a private page, the extension can capture at a selected mobile viewport.

The public Web tab is intended for open URLs. It may not show the same result as a browser page that requires a login, has local-only content, or has already had a consent banner dismissed.

Use the browser extension for a specific browser state
For private or local pages, logged-in sessions, or a page after you have dismissed a banner, use the browser extension to capture what is rendered in your browser. Captures can be sent directly to the plugin or saved as an .h2d file. The vendor documents the extension for these cases: official capture guidance.
3. Fix missing or substituted fonts
If text wraps differently or typography looks wrong, look for a missing-font alert. A font can be installed on your machine yet still fail to map as expected if its internal name in the rendered code is not recognized by Figma.

- Check the font alert in the plugin and identify the missing font.
- Use the plugin’s option to download the missing font, then install it locally.
- If you work in an organization, an admin can upload the font.
- Recheck the rendered code’s internal font name if the expected font is installed but the mismatch remains.

4. Check external assets in local HTML
Local HTML may refer to images, stylesheets, or scripts hosted elsewhere. html.to.design attempts to load external resources, but its documentation warns that loading may fail when a resource is missing or not publicly accessible. If the assets do not appear, capture the rendered page using the browser extension instead. Read the local HTML guidance.
5. Review the import settings that affect the result
The feature overview lists auto layout, multiple viewport imports, light and dark themes, font mapping, and high-resolution images when available. Review relevant settings if the discrepancy is structural, typographic, or asset-related. They do not establish that every page state or visual effect will be reproduced identically. html.to.design feature overview.
