The announcement instead specifies an AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series processor, a 750 g weight, a 12 mm profile and an NPU rated at over 50 TOPS. Those are HP’s stated specifications, not independent test results. The Gorgon Point and 32 GB details appear in a listing for a different computer, the HP EliteDesk 8 Mini G2a.
Is the HP keyboard PC a Gorgon Point mini PC with 32 GB RAM?
Not according to the HP sources available. HP announced the EliteBoard G1a Next Gen AI PC on January 5, 2026, identifying its processor only as an AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series chip. The announcement does not say “Gorgon Point” or state a maximum memory capacity.

The Gorgon Point/32 GB combination is associated with a separate HP EliteDesk 8 Mini G2a listing, which names a Ryzen AI 7 450 and 32 GB of DDR5 memory. That listing is not evidence that the keyboard-integrated EliteBoard has the same processor or memory configuration.

Notebookcheck has separately reported EliteBoard G1a configurations with up to 32 GB RAM, but that secondary report does not establish Gorgon Point support. HP’s reviewed pages do not provide an authoritative current G1a SKU specification confirming the maximum RAM or processor codename. Buyers should verify the exact model and configuration with HP or a seller before relying on either detail.

How the G2a product page differs
HP’s current EliteBoard product-family page describes a G2a generation, with AMD Ryzen AI 5 PRO or Ryzen AI 7 PRO options and up to 50 TOPS NPU performance. These are G2a page details; they should not be assigned to the G1a or treated as confirmation of Gorgon Point.
The G2a page also lists configuration-dependent options, including a fingerprint reader, a 32 W internal battery and Kensington cable-lock options. It describes USB-C display or dock connections. HP notes Wi-Fi 7 availability and function depend on a compatible Windows 11 operating system, compatible processor, separately purchased Wi-Fi 7 router and supported country; the page labels the specification as draft. These options and caveats do not establish what is included on every model.

What to check before choosing an EliteBoard over a mini desktop
A keyboard PC can reduce the separate box-and-keyboard footprint, but the setup still depends on a compatible display and suitable connections. Before comparing it with a conventional mini desktop, check the actual SKU against the needs of the intended workspace:
- Physical setup: Compare the keyboard PC’s footprint and portability with a mini desktop plus keyboard; confirm the display connection and any dock requirements.
- Processor: Ask for the exact processor model rather than relying on a codename attributed to another HP product.
- Memory: Confirm installed capacity, maximum supported capacity and whether memory is upgradeable. The reviewed official pages do not establish SKU-level EliteBoard memory details.
- Power: Check whether the specific configuration includes the optional battery or requires a separate power connection.
- Security and peripherals: Verify which optional features, such as a fingerprint reader or cable-lock support, are present on the SKU being sold.
- Availability and price: Confirm current stock and price for your country. HP’s January 5, 2026 announcement said availability was expected in March, but that forecast does not verify present availability or local pricing.
HP framed the product as a response to changing work habits. In its January 5, 2026 announcement, HP reported that 44 percent of workers believed their technology fit their style of working, citing the HP 2025 Work Relationship Index. Guayente Sanmartin, HP’s senior vice president and division president for Commercial Systems & Displays Solutions, said: “Work is being redesigned in real time—where it happens, how it happens, and what tools employees need to stay productive,”
