What is the Robinhood RHWC90TB?
Robinhood identifies the RHWC90TB as its Argus 90 slim box canopy rangehood. The finish combines stainless steel and black glass. The manufacturer lists a width of 895 mm, depth of 455 mm and height range of 445–805 mm. CHOICE presents it as a 90 cm model and lists dimensions of 40–76 × 90 × 46 cm; the two sources use different measurement conventions, so those figures should not be combined as though they were identical measurements.

Robinhood lists slide/touch controls, three standard power levels plus an intensive setting, two 2 W LED lights and three five-layer aluminium filters. The manufacturer says the filters are dishwasher-safe. CHOICE also lists four speed settings and a dishwasher-safe grease filter.
How well does it extract smoke and odours?
Robinhood advertises “Powerful 1200m³/hr maximum motor performance” on its official product page. Treat this as a manufacturer specification: it does not establish how the hood performs in a particular kitchen or how it compares with rival models under a common test method.

CHOICE says it tested the RHWC90TB in ducted mode, but its public page does not reveal the ducted performance score. The CHOICE Expert Rating and ducted ease-of-use and noise results are also member-only. The publicly visible 64% figure belongs to the recirculating-mode review; it is not a general score or a ducted-mode rating.
When comparing this hood with another 90 cm canopy, look for performance and noise measurements made using the same method and fan setting. Also consider the capture area, duct route and installation height: the motor’s headline airflow alone cannot tell you how well a hood will work in your kitchen.

Can it be installed as a ducted or recirculating hood?
Robinhood specifies both ducted and recirculating installation, with a 150 mm duct outlet. For ducted installation, the issue 2 installation and operating instructions recommend semi-rigid ducting wherever possible.
Recirculation requires charcoal filters. Robinhood lists a two-piece CARBONFTLDEEU pack as an optional accessory, and CHOICE says two of these filters are needed. The hood’s recirculating option therefore depends on being able to obtain compatible replacement filters, not just on fitting the appliance.

What are the installation clearances and electrical requirements?
The issue 2 manual specifies at least 650 mm clearance above hotplates. Follow a greater distance if the cooktop’s instructions require it. Robinhood warns that installing the hood above 750 mm will compromise performance. The manual also specifies the 150 mm duct outlet.
The manual says electrical work must be carried out by a registered electrician in accordance with applicable local and national electrical codes, and that the appliance must be earthed. Disconnect the power supply before maintenance. Follow local requirements for installation and electrical work rather than treating the manual as a substitute for them.

What does recirculation cost to maintain?
CHOICE recommends replacing the two CARBONFTLDEEU charcoal filters every 2–4 months, citing the manufacturer’s schedule. How often a household needs replacements depends on what and how much it cooks. CHOICE lists an annual carbon-filter price of $168, but the accessible page does not establish the publication year or whether that amount is a current price; do not treat it as a live quote.

How do the intensive setting and timer work?
For the RHWC90TB-family glass touch controls, the manual describes speed 4 as an intensive mode. It runs for three minutes, then returns to speed 3. A single press of the on/off delay icon starts a three-minute run-on before standby; pressing the icon twice turns the fan off.
Is the RHWC90TB still available?
CHOICE labels the RHWC90TB a discontinued model. Its page also displays $849, but the accessible information does not establish that as a current price. No current retailer stock or successor model is established here, so check directly with local sellers before making plans around availability.
If you find a remaining-stock or used unit, confirm stock status, warranty coverage, installation parts and the availability of CARBONFTLDEEU filters. For a fair comparison with another canopy, assess ducted performance and noise under equivalent conditions, installation constraints, filter upkeep, service support and the total installed price—not just the advertised maximum airflow.

The RHWC90TB has a useful published feature set, supports both ducted and recirculating setups, and offers an intensive mode and dishwasher-safe grease filters. But the most prominent performance figures are manufacturer specifications, key CHOICE test results are not public, recirculation entails recurring charcoal-filter replacement, and CHOICE marks the model discontinued. It may suit someone who can verify local availability and filter support, but the public evidence is not enough to call it a proven high performer or a current-value buy.
