What to know about France vs Italy
Zinedine Zidane is set for his first home match as France coach after two away wins. Roberto Mancini has returned for a second stint in charge of Italy. Ahead of the game, Mancini said: “Facing Zidane will be a pleasure, but this isn’t a duel between us.” He described it as “a great game between France and Italy, teams who are still trying to figure things out,” adding that the match would be useful to the process whatever the result.
Group A1 form and players to watch
France lead the group with six points after two 1–0 wins. Italy have three points, having lost 2–0 and then won 4–1. Kylian Mbappé is sidelined with a knee injury; Michael Olise is a key France attacking threat, while Francesco Pio Esposito and Davide Frattesi are Italy players to watch. The expected crowd is close to 80,000 at France’s national stadium.
