Turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on your phone and use your camera’s pairing menu. Exact controls vary by GoPro model, so check your model’s instructions if the names differ.

Choose Pair Device, or the equivalent camera-connection option for your model.

Make sure Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled on your phone.

Open Quik and follow the in-app pairing prompts. After pairing, select your camera in Quik and open its camera-control or preview view.

Open the live preview
Use Quik’s camera view to check framing and, where supported, adjust capture settings. GoPro specifically confirms that Quik can preview a shot and change capture settings with the HERO11 Black Mini. That confirmation does not establish identical controls or support across every GoPro model, app version, or phone. Check your model’s GoPro page or manual if Quik does not show a preview option.

If the preview or connection does not work
Check camera pairing and wireless connections

Confirm Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are on at the phone, and that the camera’s wireless connections are enabled.

Use the camera’s connection menu to select pairing, then follow the prompts in Quik. GoPro’s LIT HERO manual says the app and camera should sync after first pairing when both are on and wireless connections are enabled.

If the camera was paired before, turn it and Quik on and let them reconnect. If they do not, start pairing again from the camera’s connection menu.

Try the camera’s 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi option if needed
If your phone or region does not support 5 GHz Wi-Fi, check whether your camera allows you to change its Wi-Fi band to 2.4 GHz. GoPro documents that option for LIT HERO and HERO10 Black, but the setting location and availability are model-dependent. GoPro’s HERO10 Black manual says that model is set to use 5 GHz Wi-Fi when connecting to mobile devices and describes it as the fastest available band in that camera’s context; this is not a universal recommendation for every model or region.

Restart pairing from the camera menu
On HERO10 Black, GoPro documents this reconnection path: Preferences > Connections > Connect Device. Menu labels differ across models; use the equivalent connection or pairing option if your camera’s menus do not match.
Identify the model before diagnosing missing features
Preview availability and behavior can depend on the camera, phone platform, and app version. GoPro’s available model-specific information does not establish that every camera supports preview, or that preview remains available while recording. Check the support information for your exact camera and phone before treating a missing preview or recording behavior as a fault.

Preview lets you see the camera’s framing in Quik; streaming broadcasts video to a platform. GoPro documents streaming as a separate setup involving an RTMP URL, a third-party app and account, and a compatible HERO7 Black or later camera. Streaming is limited to select capture modes, so pairing for preview does not configure a broadcast.
