To determine the result, identify the order ID in the correct Futures account history and reconcile it against account-specific fills or executions. Add the matching execution quantities, then compare that total with the order’s original quantity.
Did my canceled Kraken Futures order fill?
Check the order’s executions, not just its final status. A canceled order with no linked execution records had no recorded fill in the records you reviewed. A canceled order with one or more linked executions was filled before cancellation. If the sum of those executions is less than the requested size, the order was partially filled; if it equals the requested size, it was fully filled and then canceled only because no quantity remained to rest (or because the platform recorded cancellation after completion).

This distinction matters because an order can trade immediately, leave an unfilled remainder on the book, and then be canceled. The cancellation event concerns that order lifecycle. The execution ledger is the evidence of quantity that actually traded.

- Open history for the exact Futures product and account. Kraken has distinct Futures products and regional account experiences. Use the history associated with the account that submitted the order, rather than a spot-wallet history or a different derivatives account.
- Capture the order’s identifying details. Record the order ID, contract or instrument, buy/sell side, original requested quantity, order-placement time, and cancellation time. Keep the displayed timezone and convert times consistently before comparing records.
- Find account-specific fills or executions. Search by order ID when the product’s history supports that filter. If it does not, match the contract, side, execution time and quantity together. An execution tied to the same order ID is the strongest direct evidence that the order traded.
- Sum only the executions attributable to that order. Add the executed sizes from every matching fill. Do not add unrelated trades in the same contract or trades from another account.
- Compare the total with the original request. A total of zero indicates no recorded execution in the records searched. A total between zero and the requested size is a partial fill. A total equal to the requested size is a full fill. If the platform displays an executed or remaining quantity, use it as a consistency check rather than replacing the underlying fill records.
- Cross-check with position events or an eligible statement. Position events can confirm that an execution affected the account, while a Kraken Derivatives US daily FCM statement can provide an independent fill record for eligible US customers.
There is no single universal menu path or retention period documented for every Kraken Futures product and region. Labels and available filters can therefore differ. The invariant method is to reconcile the order ID with authenticated account records.

How to calculate the result
Use this simple reconciliation:
executed quantity = sum of all matching fill quantities
Then compare that value with the original order quantity:
| Matching executions | Interpretation |
|---|---|
| 0 | No execution is shown in the account records searched. Treat this as “no recorded fill,” not absolute proof, until you have checked the correct account, date range and pagination. |
| More than 0 but less than the original quantity | The order was partially filled. The unfilled remainder was later canceled. |
| Equal to the original quantity | The requested size was fully executed. A later canceled status does not undo those executions. |
Illustrative example
Suppose an order requested 5 contracts. The account execution history shows fills of 2 contracts and 1.5 contracts with the same order ID. The executed total is 3.5 contracts, so the order was partially filled and 1.5 contracts remained unfilled when cancellation occurred. This arithmetic is illustrative; use the quantities displayed in your own account records.
What does cancellation tell me about timing?
A cancellation timestamp tells you when the remaining order was removed or marked canceled, not necessarily when the last execution occurred. Review the complete interval from submission through cancellation. A fill can appear shortly before the cancellation record, and several fills can share the same displayed second or have more precise timestamps in an export. Sort records chronologically and avoid assuming that a row appearing first on screen happened first.
If the sum of fills already equals the requested quantity, the order was effectively complete even if a cancellation event also appears. If only part of the requested quantity executed, cancellation applies to the remainder. Do not subtract a cancellation quantity from an execution quantity unless the account record explicitly identifies those quantities; cancellation is not a reversal or a trade.

Where do I find Kraken Futures fills?
Look first in the authenticated Futures account’s order, trade or execution history. The exact screen name depends on the product and region, and the available material does not establish one universal interface. If the interface offers an order-ID filter, use it before widening the search. If it does not, narrow the results by instrument, side and a time window covering placement through cancellation, then verify each candidate by quantity and timestamp.
Export or save the relevant rows when possible. Preserve the order ID exactly, including capitalization or separators, because a visual transcription error can make a genuine match appear missing.

Which Kraken records can prove or corroborate a fill?
| Record | Account-specific? | Order ID and execution details | Coverage and limitations | Best use |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Authenticated account fills or executions | Yes | Use the order ID and the product’s displayed execution quantity, price and time. | Filters, pagination and retention vary by Futures product and region; no universal window is established here. | Primary evidence for how much your order filled. |
| Position update events | Yes, when retrieved for the account | Documented fields include execution UID, execution price, execution size, trade type and timestamp. | A position can also change through liquidation, assignment, funding realization or settlement. The event type and update reason must be interpreted. | Corroboration that an execution or another event changed the position. |
| Futures trade-history endpoint | No; public market data | Reports market price, size, time and trade ID, not your account’s order ID or private fill ownership. | Returns up to the most recent 100 trades before lastTime, limited to the past seven days or a recent trading-engine restart, whichever is sooner. |
Context about what traded in the market; not proof that your order filled. |
| Public order events | No; public market data | Can show lifecycle events such as OrderCancelled. |
Retrieval is time-bounded and uses parameters such as since, before, sort order and a continuation token. It does not substitute for authenticated account executions. |
Reconstructing public event chronology, not establishing your personal fill quantity. |
| Kraken Derivatives US daily FCM statement | Yes, for eligible Kraken Derivatives US accounts | Kraken says it identifies each fill’s time, filled buy/sell quantity, filled price and order ID. | The documentation is specifically for Kraken Derivatives US; do not assume every Kraken Futures customer receives this statement. | Independent cross-check for eligible US accounts. |
Why public trade history cannot answer the question by itself
The Futures “Get trade history” endpoint is a public market-trade feed. Its fields describe trades that occurred in the market, not which private account submitted an order or whether your order received any of that quantity. It is also deliberately bounded: the documentation says it returns up to 100 recent trades before lastTime, covering the past seven days or the period since a recent trading-engine restart, whichever is shorter.
A market trade at your limit price and time is therefore only circumstantial. Many orders can trade at the same price. Use the endpoint to understand market activity, but use your authenticated account’s matching execution record to decide whether your canceled order filled.
Use position events as a corroborating trail
Kraken’s position update events documentation lists execution UID, execution price, execution size, trade type and timestamp. When an event matches the order’s instrument, side, time and quantity, it can reinforce the fill found in the account execution history.

Do not label every position update an order fill. The same event stream can reflect liquidation, assignment, funding realization or settlement. Read the event type and update reason, and treat a nonordinary event as a separate explanation for the position change. A matching execution record tied to the order ID remains the decisive evidence for this question.

What the public order-events feed can—and cannot—show
The public order-events API documents events including OrderCancelled. It can help establish the order-event sequence when you know the relevant market and time range. Its retrieval is time-bounded: use the documented since and before bounds, retain the selected sort direction, and continue through every page with the returned continuation token.
Because this is a public market feed, it is not an authenticated ledger of your account’s executions. A public cancellation event can confirm that a cancellation was published, but it cannot establish your private executed quantity. Do not stop after the first page or treat a missing public event as proof that no account fill exists.
When a Kraken Derivatives US FCM statement is available
For Kraken Derivatives US customers who receive the applicable daily statement, Kraken’s FCM report documentation says the statement identifies each fill’s time, filled buy or sell quantity, filled price and order ID. Match those fields to the order history and add the quantities for that order.
This is a product- and geography-specific cross-check. It should not be presented as a universal record for all Kraken Futures accounts, and the absence of such a statement outside the eligible service does not indicate that an order failed to fill.

How should I handle conflicting records?
First compare like with like: the same contract, side, account, timezone and date bounds. Check whether one screen reports contracts while another reports another unit, and whether quantities are displayed with rounding. Retain the unrounded values in an export when available. Compare prices as well as quantities; a row with the right size but a different instrument or execution time may belong to another order.
Next, identify whether the discrepancy is between an order summary and individual executions, or between executions and a position event. Individual account fills answer how much that order traded. Position events explain changes to the position but can include non-order causes. A statement can corroborate fills for eligible Kraken Derivatives US accounts, but it does not make public market data account-specific. If the conflict remains, report both versions rather than choosing the larger or more convenient number.
What to do when no fill appears
A no-match search is inconclusive until common record-selection errors are eliminated. Work through these checks:
- Wrong account or product: Confirm that you are reviewing the same Futures account and contract family used to submit the order.
- Incomplete time range: Include time before placement through after cancellation, and use one timezone when comparing screens or exports.
- Missed pages: Load every page of the account history. For public order events, follow the continuation token until the time range is exhausted.
- Overly narrow filters: If an order-ID search returns nothing, search by instrument and time, then verify side and quantity manually. A typo in the ID or a different display format can hide a match.
- Confusing market data with account data: A trade in public history is not your fill, and the absence of a public trade in its limited window is not proof of no fill.
- Mixing position changes with executions: Funding, settlement, liquidation and assignment can alter a position without representing an ordinary order fill.
If the records still conflict, do not guess at the filled amount. Preserve the order ID, instrument, side, original size, placement and cancellation timestamps, timezone, matching execution rows, relevant position events and any statement or export. Contact Kraken through the official support channel available from your account and provide that evidence. No particular response time or outcome is guaranteed.
How to keep an audit trail for a disputed cancellation
- Save the order-history view showing the status and order ID.
- Export or capture every matching execution row, including execution time, size and price.
- Save the position-event rows that contain the relevant execution UID or explain a separate position change.
- Record the exact filters, date bounds, sort direction and page or continuation-token state used in each search.
- For an eligible Kraken Derivatives US account, retain the daily FCM statement page containing the order ID and fill details.
Keeping these records together prevents a later review from relying on a single status label or on a market-wide trade print that cannot identify your account.

A quick decision checklist
- Do you have the exact order ID from the correct Kraken Futures account?
- Did you search authenticated account executions across the full placement-to-cancellation window?
- Did you sum only fills tied to that order and compare the total with the original requested size?
- Did you use position events only as corroboration and check their event type?
- Did you avoid treating public trade history or public cancellation events as private fill proof?
- If you found a mismatch, did you preserve the records and timestamps before contacting support?
Do not borrow spot-order assumptions
Kraken’s support article on WebSocket API v1 private feeds and open orders is a spot-API example, not Futures documentation. Its canceled-status examples should not be used to infer the execution semantics or interface of a Kraken Futures account. For this question, rely on the Futures account records and Futures documentation described above.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a canceled Kraken Futures order mean it never filled?
No. Cancellation describes the order’s remaining lifecycle. Review account-specific executions linked to the order ID; those records determine whether zero, part, or all of the requested quantity traded.
How do I prove a partial fill?
Add every account fill carrying the same order ID, then compare the total with the original requested quantity. A positive total below the original size proves a partial fill; the difference is the quantity that remained when cancellation occurred.
Can Kraken’s public trade-history API prove my order filled?
No. It is public market data, limited to up to 100 recent trades before lastTime and a short recent window. It does not identify your account or order ID. Use authenticated account executions instead.
Can a position event be something other than an order fill?
Yes. Position events can reflect liquidation, assignment, funding realization or settlement as well as executions. Check the event type and update reason before attributing a position change to the canceled order.
What if I cannot find any execution for the order ID?
Confirm the product and account, widen the time range, check timezone and pagination, and search by instrument and side if the ID filter fails. If records still conflict, preserve the order details and contact Kraken through the official account support channel.
Do all Kraken Futures users receive an FCM daily statement?
No. Kraken’s documented daily FCM statement applies specifically to eligible Kraken Derivatives US accounts. It lists fill time, buy or sell quantity, price and order ID, but it is not a universal Futures record.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: A canceled status does not establish that a Kraken Futures order had zero fills. Reconcile the exact order ID against authenticated account executions, sum the matching quantities, and compare that total with the original request. Use position events and, for eligible Kraken Derivatives US accounts, the FCM statement as corroboration—not public market trades—as proof of your fill.
