Yes—Fujitsu makes some LIFEBOOK notebooks in Japan. The company describes integrated notebook production at its Shimane factory, but that does not prove that every Fujitsu laptop, model, or unit sold worldwide is Japanese-made. To confirm a particular purchase, check the country-of-origin label on the exact unit or request written confirmation tied to its model and configuration.
What Fujitsu says about notebook production in Japan
Fujitsu says it carries out integrated LIFEBOOK production at its Shimane factory in Izumo, Shimane Prefecture. Its description covers work from printed circuit boards through the finished notebook. Fujitsu’s LIFEBOOK reliability information describes this production as part of its domestic manufacturing and quality approach.

A 2024 corporate brochure from Fujitsu Client Computing Limited identifies Shimane Fujitsu Limited in Izumo and lists notebook-PC manufacturing, repair, and kitting among its businesses. The 2024 brochure supports the existence of notebook manufacturing at the facility; it does not identify the country of origin for every product sold under the Fujitsu name.

Does that mean every Fujitsu laptop is made in Japan?
No. The official information establishes Japanese notebook production, not a universal origin guarantee. Fujitsu’s current product lineup includes LIFEBOOK notebooks, and the company announced further LIFEBOOK business notebooks in July 2026. Those sources confirm that the product line continues, but they do not map each current model or configuration to a factory or country of origin.

The available official pages do not provide a complete, current list of global LIFEBOOK models and their manufacturing countries. Origin may vary by model, configuration, market, and production period. A Fujitsu brand name—or a LIFEBOOK family name on its own—is not enough to establish where an individual unit was made.
What Fujitsu’s older “Made in Japan” page does—and does not—show
Fujitsu’s LIFEBOOK Made in Japan page covers models announced in 2018. It warns that some may no longer be sold and describes its manufacturing-process claim as applying to those models, with an exception for R727/R. It is useful historical, model-specific evidence—not proof that all current LIFEBOOKs or all Fujitsu laptops are made in Japan.

- Windows 7 Professional Operating System: Familiar and robust OS for work or school

That page states, in translation, that Fujitsu carries out component receiving inspections, CPU and other component installation, final assembly, and shipment testing for the computer body in Japan. The statement should be read within the page’s stated model-era scope.
How to verify the origin of a specific Fujitsu laptop
- Check the exact unit. Look for a country-of-origin marking on the laptop, its packaging, or accompanying product documentation. Prefer information tied to the unit you will receive rather than a general description of the brand or product family.
- Match the model and configuration. If the listing or label is unclear, ask the seller or Fujitsu for written confirmation that identifies the exact model and configuration. A claim about another LIFEBOOK model does not verify yours.
- Resolve conflicts before purchase. If a listing says “Made in Japan” but the seller cannot connect that claim to the exact unit or provide supporting documentation, treat the origin as unconfirmed and seek clarification before ordering.
Fujitsu’s current LIFEBOOK lineup can help identify current product families, but a product page alone should not be treated as a country-of-origin certificate.
