Vite+ is VoidZero’s unified web-development toolchain: a global vp command and a vite-plus package that bring together project setup, development, checks, tests, and production builds. This guide covers the workflow documented by VoidZero; the supplied title does not identify a particular book or course, so it cannot establish what an unnamed “Chapter 3” contains.
What is Vite+?
VoidZero describes Vite+ as “the unified toolchain and entry point for web development.” Rather than a single bundler feature, it combines Vite, Vitest, Oxlint, Oxfmt, Rolldown, tsdown, and Vite Task in one vite-plus package. Its global vp CLI provides project workflows and can manage Node.js and package managers. See VoidZero’s Vite+ homepage and the official guide.

VoidZero says Vite+ is free and open source under the MIT license. The homepage also advertises performance comparisons: up to 40× faster builds than webpack, roughly 50× to 100× faster linting than ESLint, and up to 30× faster formatting than Prettier. These are vendor claims, not independently verified benchmarks; results for a particular project depend on its codebase and environment.
How do you install Vite+?
The official guide documents global installation with a shell command on macOS or Linux, or a PowerShell command on Windows. Because installation commands download and execute software, check VoidZero’s current guide for the supported platform instructions and any security or environment-management details before running them: Vite+ installation and getting started.
#1 Best Overall
The global CLI can manage Node.js and package managers. If you do not want Vite+ to manage your environment, the guide documents vp env off. VoidZero also describes a Windows installer and a project-local CLI option; consult its current installation guide for those routes.
What is the basic Vite+ project workflow?
The documented first-project sequence moves from scaffolding through production build:

Use the commands from the project directory after creation, following any prompts from the scaffold. For current command details, see the official getting-started guide.
What does vp do?
vp is the CLI entry point. It provides built-in project commands, including the workflow above, and can run scripts declared in a project’s package.json. Use vp run <command> when you mean to run a package script. This distinction matters if a script shares a name with a built-in command: built-in commands take precedence, so vp test invokes Vite+’s test command rather than necessarily invoking the package’s own test script. To run that script, use vp run test. Details are in the Vite+ guide.
How does Vite+ configuration work?
Vite+ extends the familiar vite.config.ts configuration with blocks for project creation, task running, formatting, linting, checks, testing, packaging, and staged-file checks. This gives teams a place to configure several parts of their workflow alongside ordinary Vite settings, without requiring every project to adopt an identical setup. See the configuration guide.
For a monorepo or framework repository, the documented defaultPackage setting can direct bare app commands to a frontend subdirectory. An explicit target takes precedence. This can make commands easier to use from a repository root when the app is not located there.

How do builds and tests behave?
Production builds
vp build runs the standard Vite production build. The current build guide describes Vite+ as using Vite 8 and Rolldown; because these versions can change, check the official build guide for the current toolchain before relying on version-specific behavior.

vp test runs Vitest. The test guide documents bundled Vitest 5.0.3 and a Node.js requirement of ^22.18.0 || ^24.11.0 || >=26.0.0; both details are version-sensitive, so verify them against the official test guide before upgrading or choosing a runtime. By default, vp test runs once rather than staying in watch mode. Use vp test watch to watch for changes. If the intent is to run a package’s existing test script, use vp run test.

How do you update an existing Vite+ project?
Updating the global vp CLI alone does not necessarily align a project’s toolchain dependencies with the CLI’s bundled versions. VoidZero recommends running vp migrate in an existing Vite+ project. The migration repins vite-plus, the Vite core alias, and Vitest to versions bundled with the running CLI. Review the migration guide for the current behavior and project-specific considerations.
When is Vite+ a practical fit?
Vite+ may suit a team that wants a consolidated CLI and configuration surface for common web-development tasks, particularly if it is already working with Vite and Vitest. Before adopting it, consider whether you want the global CLI’s environment management, how its built-in commands interact with existing package scripts, whether your project’s current tool versions are compatible, and the work needed to align dependencies during migration. The official documentation explains the toolchain and commands but does not establish independent productivity or cost savings over maintaining separate tools.
