To capture a Hindi page with URL2PNG, make sure the page actually serves its Hindi content, its fonts include Devanagari glyphs, and any remote font has loaded before the screenshot. Then create and sign a URL2PNG v6 request, choose the viewport or full-page capture you need, and set accept_languages only if the site selects language from the request header. A language header cannot fix missing glyphs, and a longer wait cannot fix incorrect page content.
Check the Hindi page before building the request
A screenshot service captures what the page renders; it does not translate text or supply missing characters. First open the target page in a browser and confirm that the Hindi content is present. Then check that the CSS font family has Devanagari coverage and that any remote stylesheet and font file can load. Google’s font setup guidance recommends applying the chosen family in CSS and including a generic fallback: Google Fonts: Getting started.

Font readiness and page readiness are separate. A page may contain Hindi characters but show boxes or blank spaces if the active font lacks the necessary glyphs or the web font has not loaded. Google notes browser-dependent behavior while fonts load; some browsers can display blank space until the font arrives, while Firefox may show fallback text first and rerender. See Google Fonts technical considerations. URL2PNG advertises web-font rendering generally, but its materials do not promise Hindi-specific or universal Devanagari rendering.

Build a URL2PNG v6 request
URL2PNG’s v6 Quickstart describes an API key and a token derived from the full query string and secret. Generate the signature from the exact query string you send: changing a parameter changes the string being signed. Keep the secret on a server you control, not in public browser code. Follow the current signing instructions and request format in the URL2PNG Quickstart; its documentation also includes examples using older clients or protocol forms, which should not be assumed to use identical signing details.

There is no safe universal signed URL to copy here: the token depends on your own key, secret, and exact final query. Build the query with your target URL and capture options, URL-encode values as specified by URL2PNG, then calculate the token according to its v6 instructions. Do not modify the query after signing.
Choose capture dimensions and page scope
Viewport capture
The documented viewport option uses widthxheight dimensions. URL2PNG lists 1480x1037 as its default. Set a viewport that matches the layout you need to inspect; Hindi text can wrap differently at narrower widths, so check whether headings or lines are clipped in the returned image.
Full-page capture
Set fullpage=true when you need the document canvas rather than just the viewport. The guide says this option “Will attempt to capture entire document canvas” and documents its default as false. “Attempt” matters: inspect the result for clipping, unexpected scaling, or content that appears only after scrolling. The option is documented in URL2PNG’s Quickstart.

Set language and wait for content when needed
Language negotiation
The accept_languages option overrides URL2PNG’s default Accept-Language header, documented as en-US,en;q=0.8. Set a Hindi preference when the target site uses that header to choose localized content. This changes the request’s language preference; it does not install a font, add Devanagari glyphs, or guarantee the site will serve Hindi.
Late-loading content and fonts
URL2PNG documents two readiness controls:
say_cheese=truewaits for an element with the IDurl2png-cheese. Use a page-controlled signal when you can arrange for the page to add that element only after relevant content and fonts are ready.delaywaits a fixed number of seconds after document readiness and asset loading. Use it when you cannot provide a page signal, while recognizing that a delay cannot repair a failed font request.
For site owners, a deliberate readiness signal is preferable to guessing with a long delay: expose the documented element only after the Hindi content and required font are ready. For third-party pages, use the available delay and verify the captured result. The controls and their behavior are described in the URL2PNG Quickstart.

These are URL2PNG’s documented controls, not a guarantee of a specific Hindi rendering outcome. Check the official Quickstart for the current v6 parameter syntax before deploying; URL2PNG’s documentation details and defaults can change.

Inspect the image and diagnose differences
When a capture looks wrong, compare the same target URL and change one factor at a time. This helps separate a font or page problem from a request option or cached image.

- Check the font request and CSS. Verify the selected family covers Devanagari and that stylesheet and font requests succeed in the rendering environment.
- Check capture timing. If the page inserts content or loads fonts late, use the page signal or a delay, then inspect whether the image changed.
- Check localization. Try
accept_languagesonly if the site uses the request header to choose content. It will not change font coverage. - Check layout scope. Adjust
viewportor usefullpage=trueif text wraps, clips, or falls outside the captured area. - Check cache freshness. If a repeated request seems to show an old result, use the documented

Common problems and fixes
Hindi letters appear as boxes or are missing
Check whether the chosen font has Devanagari glyphs and whether its web-font request succeeds. A Hindi language header cannot supply glyphs. If the page uses a remote font, make sure it can load before capture and use a readiness signal or delay if necessary.
The screenshot shows the wrong language
Confirm the page itself offers Hindi content. If it selects a locale from the request header, set accept_languages appropriately. That option negotiates language; it does not translate content.
The page is blank or partly rendered
Check whether the relevant content or font loads after the capture begins. Use say_cheese when the page can signal readiness, or a documented delay when it cannot. Neither setting can fix missing markup or an unavailable font.

The layout is clipped or text wraps unexpectedly
Choose a viewport suited to the intended layout, then inspect the actual image. Use fullpage=true for the document canvas when appropriate; URL2PNG describes it as an attempt to capture the entire canvas, not an unconditional guarantee.
A repeated request appears stale
Check URL2PNG’s documented unique and ttl cache controls. The guide lists a 30-day default TTL; use the freshness controls when you need to distinguish a cached capture from a new render.

Does accept_languages=hi make Hindi text render correctly?
No. It can influence locale selection when a site honors the Accept-Language header, but font coverage and successful font loading determine whether Devanagari characters display.
Does URL2PNG guarantee Hindi or Devanagari rendering?
Its documentation advertises web-font rendering generally, but does not identify a Hindi-specific font or promise correct Devanagari rendering on every page or configuration.
Should I use delay or say_cheese?
Use say_cheese when you can make the page expose the documented readiness element after relevant content is ready. Use delay when a page-controlled signal is unavailable.
