As of October 4, 2026, Training Mode is announced for an October update, but its availability on that date is not confirmed. CAVE says it will let you choose a stage—including AREA6—and adjust ship settings to practise at your own pace. The official announcement does not give a menu path, setting names, reset controls, or button bindings, so exact click-by-click instructions cannot yet be verified.
What Training Mode is announced to do
In a September 18, 2026 producer’s letter, CAVE Interactive’s Akihiro Kotani described the feature this way: “You’ll be able to choose the stage you want to practice—including the new AREA6—and freely adjust your ship settings, giving you the space to practice at your own pace and work on specific sections.” Read the producer’s roadmap.

That confirms the intended practice options, not how the finished interface works. The letter does not list which ship settings can be changed or say whether you can start at a particular section within a stage.
How to find and use it when it is available
The October date is a scheduled update window, not confirmation that Training Mode is already in your copy. When the update is available, use this as a cautious way to look for the feature; these are practical suggestions, not publisher-confirmed menu instructions.

- Launch the current game build and check its mode menu for Training Mode.
- If it is listed, open it and use the displayed prompts to choose a stage. The producer specifically includes AREA6 among the selectable practice stages.
- Review the ship-setting options shown in the mode. Their names and effects have not been specified in the announcement, so do not assume settings from another DoDonPachi game apply.
- Use the on-screen instructions to begin and make any further selections. The roadmap does not establish how to select a specific section, restart a run, or reset settings.
Check controls in the game
Do not rely on assumed keyboard, controller, or arcade-stick bindings for Training Mode. Check the current build’s Options menu and the prompts displayed in the mode. CAVE’s August 4 demo update notes mention an options-menu improvement, a controller-input fix, and revised default keyboard controls, but they do not document Training Mode’s controls or establish bindings for the full game.
