Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsThe Domains section is where Hostinger lists your domains, shows whether each one needs attention, and opens the controls for that domain. You reach it from the left sidebar of the dashboard. From there you can open a domain’s overview, check its expiration and renewal status, and, when the domain uses Hostinger nameservers, edit its DNS records. The one point that trips up most people is that DNS editing only applies in Hostinger when the domain actually points to Hostinger’s nameservers. The rest of this guide walks through each part of the section in the order you are likely to use it.
Find the Domains section
- Sign in to your Hostinger account and open the dashboard.
- In the left sidebar, select Domains.
The section is used for three things: finding and changing settings for existing domains, managing DNS, and buying new domains. If you only want to register a domain, the purchase route sits inside this same section rather than in a separate product area.

Hostinger’s documentation shows the navigation in more than one form. An older version of the guide describes a path of Domains → Domain portfolio → Manage. The newer dashboard guide says DNS can be reached directly from the Domains sidebar. If the labels in your account differ from what this article describes, follow what your account shows; the underlying controls are the same.

The domain list includes two kinds of domain: domains you bought from Hostinger, and external domains you have added to a hosting plan. Each row shows four things:
#1 Best Overall
- Cards are shipped active and ready for use.
- This card is non-reloadable. No cash or ATM access. Funds do not expire. If available funds remain on your card after the valid thru date has passed, please call customer service for a replacement card. A one-time purchase fee applies at the time of checkout. No fees after purchase.
- Double check if the URL/website is genuine before entering card details online. Do not provide any gift card details (example: claim code) to someone you do not know or trust. There are a variety of scams in which fraudsters try to trick others into paying with gift cards.
- If you believe that your Card has been lost or stolen, notify Mastercard immediately by calling 1-833-791-7288. You will be asked to provide the Gift Card number and other identifying information.
- Use your Mastercard Gift Card in the U.S. everywhere Mastercard debit cards are accepted, including online. Your Amazon.com Balance cannot be used to purchase Mastercard gift cards.
- Domain name, so you can tell which entry is which.
- Status, which tells you whether the domain is active or needs action.
- Expiration date, the date the current registration ends.
- Auto-renewal status, which shows whether the domain is set to renew automatically.
To work with a domain, open it with Manage. In the hPanel version of the guide, the same step is done by clicking the domain’s arrow. An expired domain cannot be managed from this page. Hostinger’s help article states it directly: “The management page will be disabled if the domain is expired.” If you see a domain marked expired, the renewal decision has to be made before any other settings can be changed.
Use Domain Overview for domain-level controls
After you open a domain, Domain Overview is the general control page. It contains the settings that apply to the registration itself rather than to individual DNS entries:
- Status, expiration date, and auto-renewal
- Privacy protection
- Transfer lock
- Authorization (EPP) code, which you need when moving the domain to another registrar
- Nameservers
- Contact information
The current dashboard guide also describes an SSL status area and some quick tools on this page. Those depend on how your account and plan are set up, so you may see them differently or not at all.

- To access your card information safely, type the complete website address shown on your Gift Card (MyGift.GiftCardMall.com) directly into your browser's address bar. Don't use search engines or shortened versions of the website address, as these may lead you to fake or fraudulent sites. Do not provide any Gift Card details (example: Card Number) to someone you do not know or trust. If you believe you've reached an illegitimate website, contact cardholder service at 1-888-524-1283. Be cautious of phishing sites, there are a variety of scams in which fraudsters try to trick others into paying with gift cards.
- To report your Lost or Stolen Physical Visa Card, call Customer Service 24/7 at 1 (888) 524-1283 to cancel your Gift Card as soon as you can. You will be asked to provide the Gift Card number and other identifying information.
- Use your Visa Gift Card in the U.S. everywhere Visa debit cards are accepted, including online.
Use DNS / Nameservers for DNS work
Open DNS / Nameservers (or the direct DNS entry in the Domains sidebar, depending on your version of the dashboard) to inspect or change nameservers and to reach DNS records. This is the page where you add or edit records such as A, CNAME, or MX entries for the domain.
Records you save in Hostinger’s dashboard take effect once the domain uses Hostinger nameservers. Hostinger’s DNS article says changes can take up to 24 hours to propagate globally. Read that as the maximum the guide gives, not a promise that every change will be visible within that window; propagation time depends on caching at each resolver.
If the domain points to another provider’s nameservers, the Hostinger DNS page does not control live records. Make those edits in the DNS panel of the provider that hosts the nameservers.

Manage external domains
External domains can appear in an External domains area when they have been added to a Hostinger hosting plan. Being registered elsewhere does not by itself remove a domain from the dashboard. Hostinger’s guide says two things about these domains:
- An external domain can be transferred to Hostinger.
- If the domain already points to Hostinger through its nameservers, its active DNS zone can be opened from the dashboard.
Those two cases cover most situations, but the table below separates them, since the registrar and the nameserver setting are independent of each other.

Two questions decide what you can do in the section: where the domain is registered, and which nameservers it uses. The table summarizes how the two combine.

| Situation | How the domain appears | Where active DNS is edited | Transfer option |
|---|---|---|---|
| Registered at Hostinger, using Hostinger nameservers | Full entry in the domain list, with Manage available unless expired | Hostinger DNS / Nameservers page | Not applicable |
| Registered elsewhere, added to a hosting plan, pointing to Hostinger nameservers | Listed under External domains | Hostinger DNS page | Available; Hostinger’s guide describes transfer as an option |
| Registered at Hostinger, pointing to another provider’s nameservers | Listed in the domain list | The other provider’s DNS tools | Not applicable |
| Registered elsewhere, pointing to another provider’s nameservers | Listed under External domains if added to a plan | The other provider’s DNS tools | Available; Hostinger’s guide describes transfer as an option |
The practical test is simple. Check the nameservers on the domain’s Domain Overview page. If they are Hostinger’s, edit records in Hostinger. If they belong to another provider, edit records there, and use Hostinger only for the domain-level controls the overview still shows.
Common problems
- The Manage button is missing or the page is disabled. Check the expiration date. Hostinger’s guide says the management page is disabled for expired domains.
- A DNS change you saved in Hostinger does not appear. Confirm the nameservers first. Changes saved in Hostinger only take effect when the domain uses Hostinger nameservers. If propagation is the issue, allow up to the 24-hour maximum stated in the guide before changing anything else.
- An external domain is missing from the list. It is shown only when it has been added to a Hostinger hosting plan.
- The menu labels do not match this guide. Hostinger’s documentation uses different paths across versions. Use the navigation visible in your account.
The Hostinger Help Center article “How to use the Domains section in Hostinger dashboard” is the official reference for these steps. The guide was retrieved in early October 2026, so check the logged-in dashboard against it if an interface label has changed since then.
