Samsung Reminder lets you record tasks on a Galaxy phone and bring them back to your attention by time or place. Start in the Reminder app, then add notes, organize tasks, or capture them from Bixby and other apps. The exact labels and available features can differ by Galaxy model, One UI version, and Reminder app version.
How to create your first Samsung Reminder

Open the Reminder app on your Galaxy phone.

Tap Add, enter what you need to remember, and add any details you want to keep with the task.

Choose a time or place if you want an alert tied to one, then save the reminder. Samsung’s Reminder guide documents this basic workflow.

If you do not see the same button names, check the app’s current interface; labels can vary across versions.

Choose when or where to be reminded
Time-based alerts
Add a time when you want the reminder to appear at a particular point in your schedule. You can reopen a saved reminder to change its time or other details.
Location-based alerts
A place can be used as a reminder trigger, so the alert is associated with arriving at or being near a location rather than only with a clock time. Samsung lists Location as an optional permission for location-related functions in its Galaxy Store listing. If location access is unavailable or denied, location-triggered behavior may not be available as expected.
Edit, complete, delete, and organize reminders
Edit or delete an item
Open the reminder and choose Edit to change its details, or Delete to remove it. Editing is separate from marking a task complete.

Tap the circle next to a reminder, or open the reminder and choose Complete. Completed items can be viewed separately in the app.

Use categories and checklists
Categories help group reminders, while checklists can break a task into smaller items where that feature is available. Samsung’s support guide describes category management; the Galaxy Store listing also identifies checklists as an app feature. Availability and controls can vary by version.
Add notes, pictures, and shared content
When editing a reminder, you can add supporting information such as a memo or picture. The app listing also describes attachments and creating reminders by sharing text, pictures, links, and other content from another app. The available share targets and permissions depend on the apps and device configuration.
For example, when you encounter something worth following up on in another app, use that app’s share control and select Reminder if it is offered. This can preserve the reference alongside the task instead of requiring you to copy it manually.
Capture reminders with Bixby or other Samsung apps
Ask Bixby to create a timed or repeating reminder
You can ask Bixby to create a reminder for a task at a stated time, including recurring requests such as a weekly task. Bixby may be launched using a configured Bixby or Side button. Samsung’s Bixby reminders guide says that completion and deletion must be handled in the Reminder app rather than by Bixby. The Galaxy Store listing says voice creation requires a Samsung account and network connection; that condition applies to the listed Bixby workflow, not to manually adding a reminder in the app.

Use Calendar, Phone, Messages, or sharing
Samsung describes additional creation routes through Calendar, voice input, selected Samsung apps, and content sharing. Phone and Messages flows may offer a way to add a reminder, while content from apps such as Internet or Gallery can be shared to Reminder. These routes depend on the app and device version; the Reminder app remains the general-purpose route.
Sync Samsung Reminder with Microsoft To Do
Samsung documents syncing Reminder with Microsoft To Do. To use the integration, sign in to Microsoft To Do from Reminder; Samsung says reminders can then be accessed from Outlook. Account and regional options may differ, so the exact sign-in or sync controls may not appear identically for every user. See Samsung’s Reminder and organization instructions.
If reminders do not notify you

Open Reminder settings and review its notification and alert-style options.

In Galaxy Settings, open the app’s notification controls and check whether notifications or relevant categories are disabled. Samsung notes that notification-category options vary by app and device; see its Galaxy notification settings guide.

Check that the reminder itself has the intended time or place trigger. A location alert also depends on location permission and availability.
Samsung’s Galaxy Store listing identifies Notifications as required for Reminder, while Calendar, Photos and videos, Location, Contacts, Nearby devices, Call logs, and Microphone are optional permissions for particular functions. Samsung says basic app features can be used without granting optional permissions.

Samsung has documented a registration issue for some Galaxy phones and tablets running Android B OS/One UI 8.0 when Voice Recorder version 21.5.81.43 or later was updated without a device restart. This is a narrowly scoped case, not evidence that Reminder is generally broken.

Check the installed Voice Recorder version and update it if it is older than the version specified in Samsung’s notice.

Restart the device, then try adding a reminder from the affected app again.

If the issue remains, Samsung lists clearing the affected app’s cache as an optional next step. Follow the instructions in its notice about reminders not registering through other apps.
