Restream can automatically start a prerecorded YouTube stream at a scheduled time, even when you are offline. To repeat it on another date, reuse a draft or duplicate the event and schedule a new occurrence; Restream’s documented workflow does not establish an automatic weekly or daily recurrence rule.
Schedule a prerecorded YouTube stream in Restream
- From Restream’s home screen, select New Stream, then Pre-recorded livestream and Video.
- Choose a video from Uploads or Recordings, or upload a file from your computer or mobile device.
- Enter the event title and description, then choose its date and time. Add a thumbnail if you want; Restream recommends 1280×720.
- If you want an announcement page before the broadcast, enable Create an event post in advance during event setup.
- Select YouTube as a destination and create the event. Check the selected channel and scheduled time before confirming.
Restream’s prerecorded video-file and playlist events start automatically at the scheduled time, so you do not need to initiate the broadcast or be online. You can monitor the stream and chat while it airs. Restream notes that some other connected platforms may require a manual start; that exception should not be generalized to YouTube. Repeat the schedule by creating another event
For another airing, reuse the saved draft or duplicate the prior event, update the date and any changed details, confirm YouTube is selected, and schedule it again. Restream documents reusing drafts and duplicating events, but its reviewed instructions do not describe a recurring calendar setting that automatically creates future events. Treat each date as a separate scheduled occurrence. See Restream’s scheduling guide and its draft-reuse instructions.

YouTube also supports reusing settings from a previous scheduled stream. An upcoming scheduled stream may appear in subscribers’ feeds, where viewers can choose Notify me; this reminder feature does not make the event repeat automatically. Do not use one YouTube event for multiple airings
Restream’s YouTube-specific guide says a YouTube event can only go live once. Do not start the event early just to test it: make a separate test setup, and create a new scheduled event for the next broadcast. See Restream’s YouTube Live Event guide.
Check the workflow limits before scheduling
- File-based event versus live encoder: A prerecorded event is the relevant choice when you want an uploaded recording to air later without you initiating the stream. Restream distinguishes this from going live through its Studio or an encoder. See Restream’s live-workflow comparison.
- Library and resolution: Restream says prerecorded video streaming is available to all users, while storage and video-size limits depend on the add-on tier. Its help page lists Premier at $39/month with two hours of library storage and 1080p maximum, Marathon at $79/month with four hours and 1080p, and Media at $239/month with 12 hours and 4K. These are plan details and prices reported on the Restream help page retrieved October 3, 2026; check the current terms before choosing a tier. See Restream’s video scheduling limits.
- Looping versus recurring: Restream says an individual prerecorded video can loop up to 10 times, and that looping requires the Marathon or Media add-on. This repeats the video within an event; it does not schedule a series of distinct YouTube events. See Restream’s Upload & Stream overview.
- Thumbnail branding: Free users have Restream branding on the event thumbnail. See Restream’s video scheduling instructions.
- Advance announcements: Restream says advance event posts are supported for YouTube, Facebook profiles and pages, LinkedIn, and X. If an event is unscheduled in Restream, posts already created on those platforms are not automatically removed, so clean them up separately if needed. See Restream’s scheduling guide.
