How to Use NVIDIA Broadcast With OBS

Choose your physical microphone or camera in NVIDIA Broadcast, then select its virtual device in OBS to use the processed audio or video.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

To use NVIDIA Broadcast with OBS, first choose your physical microphone or camera inside NVIDIA Broadcast and enable the effects you need. Then select Microphone (NVIDIA Broadcast) in OBS under Settings > Audio, or add Camera (NVIDIA Broadcast) as an OBS Video Capture Source. Broadcast applies the effects; OBS receives its virtual devices.

Check that your PC can run NVIDIA Broadcast

NVIDIA’s current requirements page lists a GeForce RTX 2060, Quadro RTX 3000, TITAN RTX, or higher GPU; at least 8 GB of RAM; Windows 10 64-bit; and an NVIDIA Studio Driver R570, Game Ready Driver R570, or NVIDIA RTX Enterprise Driver R570 or newer. NVIDIA recommends an Intel Core i5 8600 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 or higher CPU, and an internet connection is required during installation. Requirements can change with app versions, so check NVIDIA’s Broadcast product page before troubleshooting or choosing hardware.

NVIDIA confirms OBS Studio is supported and says the Broadcast app uses RTX GPU Tensor Cores; GTX GPUs are not supported for the app. If your system does not meet the listed GPU requirements, selecting a Broadcast device in OBS will not make the effects available.

Set up your microphone in Broadcast and OBS

  1. Open NVIDIA Broadcast. In the microphone section, choose your actual physical microphone as the input device.
  2. Enable the effects you want. Turn on only the processing needed for your stream, such as noise removal or room-echo reduction, if available in your installed app version.
  3. Choose the virtual device in OBS. Open OBS Studio > Settings > Audio. Under Mic/Auxiliary Audio, select Microphone (NVIDIA Broadcast), then apply the settings.
  4. Check the signal. Speak into the microphone and watch the OBS audio meter. Listen to a short test recording or use OBS’s monitoring options before going live to confirm the selected device and level.

The order matters: Broadcast takes input from the real microphone, processes it, and exposes a virtual microphone for OBS. Choosing the physical mic directly in OBS bypasses Broadcast’s processing.

  • [Award-Winning Studio Voice] The Red Dot winning podcast microphone delivers camera-ready styling for streaming and pro-grade recording clarity that sounds rich and full. It rounds off all the harsh tones while bringing out warm natural podcast vocals. Off-axis rejection from the dynamic microphone reduces costly post-production.
  • [USB & XLR Ready] The USB microphone covers every creative stage. The USB end offers plug-and-play daily use for quick Zoom calls or meetings. You can switch to XLR as your setup expands into a professional studio. From home recording and broadcast, the XLR microphone adapts to any workflow-ready when you are.
  • [Onboard Command Center] Front-panel controls on the streaming mic keep essential adjustments within reach. Tap mute when you need a sip without cutting your gaming chat. Turn the gain knob to dial in ideal level while the headphone jack on the vocal microphone delivers real-time monitoring. You hear exactly what your audience hears.
  • [Ambient-Noise Resistant] 192kHz sampling picks up emotional nuances in your voice-over and brings audiobook characters to life, pulling listeners into the story. 70dB SNR keeps your voice clean, crisp and silky-no distortion or hiss. The cardioid pattern on the gaming mic rejects room noise and echo from the sides.
  • [All-Metal Frame] Solid metal build with multi-layer internal suspension isolates the capsule from desk vibrations, accidental bumps and AC hum. Durable and stylish design on the studio recording microphone withstand the hits of time. The microphone for computer suits for content creation, online courses or interview, whether in the studio or on the go.

Use a Broadcast camera in an OBS scene

  1. In NVIDIA Broadcast, select your physical camera as the camera input and enable the video effects you need.
  2. In OBS, select the scene where you want the camera, then in Sources choose + and add a Video Capture Source.
  3. In that source’s device list, choose Camera (NVIDIA Broadcast). Confirm the preview shows the processed image and arrange or crop it in the scene.
  4. If the source is blank, check that the camera is selected and working in Broadcast, and that another app is not monopolizing the physical camera.

Choose effects without adding unnecessary processing

Match effects to the problem: audio filters address microphone noise or room echo, while video effects alter the camera image or background. NVIDIA cautions that running multiple effects increases GPU usage and recommends enabling only effects you need. Some combinations may not be available. If Broadcast is already removing noise, turn off similar noise-removal processing in OBS, your audio driver, or another processing layer to avoid filtering the same signal twice. NVIDIA’s setup guide explains the device workflow and these cautions: Broadcast App Setup Guide.

For ordinary Windows playback, keep your actual headset or speakers as the Windows output device if you want to hear unfiltered system sound; NVIDIA advises against making NVIDIA Broadcast Speakers the default output for that purpose.

Troubleshoot common setup problems

  • Broadcast devices do not appear in OBS: Confirm Broadcast is installed and running, the PC meets the current requirements, and OBS is selecting the virtual device rather than the physical input. Restarting the apps after installation can help the receiving app detect the devices.
  • OBS meter does not move: Verify the physical microphone is selected in Broadcast, check that it is not muted, and confirm OBS’s Mic/Auxiliary Audio selection is Microphone (NVIDIA Broadcast).
  • Camera preview is black or missing: Check the physical camera in Broadcast, then verify the OBS Video Capture Source uses Camera (NVIDIA Broadcast). Close other applications that may be using the camera.
  • Audio sounds over-processed: Disable duplicate noise removal or other overlapping filters in OBS, the driver, or other audio software; compare a brief test with only one processing layer enabled.
  • Effects cause performance strain: Disable effects you do not need. NVIDIA notes that more effects increase app GPU usage; check the current requirements and driver guidance if the problem continues.
