To use an in-game macro in AION 2, create it in the Skill screen’s Macro area, then separately bind the Macro action under Settings → Key Settings → General → Gameplay. Make the macro and assign its input as two distinct steps; creating one alone may not make it run.
How to create an in-game macro
- Open the Skill screen. Find the Macro area or button; exact labels may vary by client.
- Add the skills you want the macro to try. Arrange them in the intended order, then save the macro.
- Bind the Macro action. Go to Settings → Key Settings → General → Gameplay, find the in-game Macro action, and assign a key or mouse button. A mouse button is optional, not required.
- Test the input safely. Use a low-risk setting and check that the game responds as expected. A third-party guide suggests trying a training dummy, but that is a suggestion rather than a verified requirement.
These menu locations and steps are described by third-party setup guides, not an official Global-client manual. Check the labels in your own client.

How the macro is reported to run
Third-party guides describe holding the bound key to run the sequence. One also says the chain cycles through its entries and skips skills that are unavailable. Treat that as reported behavior, not a guarantee for every current client or situation.

If the macro does nothing
- Check the binding first. Macro creation and binding the Macro action are separate; confirm that the action has a key or mouse button assigned.
- Check the saved sequence. Return to the Macro area and confirm the intended entries and order were saved.
- Try the input again in a safe setting. Observe whether the client responds, rather than assuming a particular queue or timing rule.
Limits and automation policy
Exact current Global-client entry limits, minimum or maximum delays, and queue rules are not established by the available setup material. Avoid relying on numerical limits from unofficial guides as authoritative.

In a January 28, 2026 announcement, NCSOFT described measures against botting and unauthorized automation. It said the minimum level for gathering had been raised to level 45 “to further limit the use of automated gathering macros.” That is a gathering threshold and an anti-automation measure, not a general rule approving or prohibiting every feature of external mouse or keyboard software.
The announcement does not settle whether a particular external device feature or repeating script is permitted. Do not assume external scripts or repeating macros are safe or officially approved; use the game’s built-in macro and avoid unauthorized automation.
