Halide offers manual control over focus and exposure on iPhone: its official product page describes swiping up or down for exposure and left or right for focus, with focus peaking and a focus loupe to help judge sharpness. ISO and shutter speed are available in Halide’s all-manual mode, but the public product page does not document the exact current taps for opening that mode or selecting each value. For those steps, use Halide’s current in-app manual or its official support materials.
What Halide’s manual controls do
Halide combines automatic operation with an all-manual mode. The app says that manual mode gives you control over shutter speed, ISO, and white balance; focus determines which distance appears sharp, while ISO and shutter speed are exposure choices. These controls work within the capabilities of the iPhone camera module in use.

Manual focus lets you choose the focus distance instead of relying entirely on autofocus. Halide documents a horizontal gesture for focus: swipe left or right. Its product page also identifies focus peaking and a focus loupe as aids for judging focus. It does not explain their detailed display behavior, so use what appears in the current app to assess whether the subject looks sharp.

The published product information does not specify the exact current sequence for entering manual mode, enabling an aid, or making a particular adjustment. Consult Halide’s current in-app manual or the Halide Support page rather than relying on guessed button names or steps.
How ISO and shutter speed affect exposure
ISO
ISO is an exposure control available in Halide’s manual mode. The official product information reviewed here does not establish a Halide-specific ISO range, so the available values may depend on the app version and iPhone camera being used. Choose a value in the app and judge the live view; do not assume every iPhone offers identical controls.

Shutter speed
Shutter speed is another exposure control in manual mode. A slower shutter can make camera movement more apparent in the image, so steadier support may help. A smartphone tripod with a phone clamp is an optional practical aid, not a Halide requirement or a verified compatibility recommendation.
Exposure gesture
Halide’s product page says to swipe up or down for exposure. It does not spell out how to expose separate ISO and shutter-speed controls, select one, or lock a value in the current interface. Check the in-app manual or official support materials for the exact controls shown in your version.

A practical way to get a sharp photo

Open Halide and consult its current in-app manual or official support materials for the steps to enter manual mode. The public product page does not provide a reliable current tap-by-tap sequence.

Frame the subject, then use the documented left-or-right focus gesture to adjust focus. Use the focus peaking or focus loupe if available in your interface to help assess sharpness.

Set exposure using the app’s documented up-or-down gesture, and use the current manual to find the individual ISO and shutter-speed controls. Assess the live view rather than assuming a particular numeric range.

If you choose a slower shutter, steady the phone as well as the scene allows; a tripod is optional. Recheck the subject’s sharpness in the resulting image.

Interface layout and supported devices can change. Lux Optics’ terms of use say features and device or operating-system support may change; the page lists a last-updated date of September 1, 2020, so it should not be treated as a current feature inventory.
