The steps below follow Streamlabs’ mobile guide, last updated December 9, 2025.
Choose a remote guest or a second camera
Use Add a Guest when another person is joining remotely through an invite link. On Android, choose Add a Camera when you want to use the phone itself—its front or back camera—as another angle. The mobile guide documents both options on Android; it does not describe the same local-camera layer option for iOS.

Collab Cam works through a scene and its layers. A scene is the stream layout; a guest or camera is a layer you position within it. Streamlabs describes the mobile feature as usable with a smartphone, without a computer or pro camera. A mount or tripod may help hold a phone at a chosen angle, but it is optional, not a stated app requirement.

Set up a guest on iPhone or iPad
- Open the Streamlabs Mobile main menu and tap Scenes, then Create New Scene.
- Name the scene and choose a premade layout or a custom layout.
- Open Layers, tap the plus sign, and choose Add a Guest.
- Enter the guest’s name and save.
- Share the generated join link with the guest. Ask them to follow the prompts for their preferences and tap Join.
- Arrange the guest video in the scene. Tap the gear icon on the guest controls to configure audio or camera settings, copy the link, or generate a new link.
- Tap Preview to check the guest camera and layout. When ready, return to the app home screen and tap Go Live.
You can also add a guest after the broadcast has started: create the guest layer, send the link, and arrange the layer in the live scene.

Set up a guest or extra camera on Android
- Open the main menu and choose Scenes, then Create a New Scene. If you do not see Scenes, Streamlabs’ guide says to choose Go to Advanced Settings, tap Continue, and create a scene.
- Name the scene and choose a premade layout or a custom layout.
- Open Layers and tap Add layer.
- Choose Add a Guest for a remote participant, or Add a Camera to add the phone’s front or back camera.
- For a guest, enter their name and tap Add. Resize and position the camera layer in the scene.
- Select the guest camera layer and tap the gear icon to configure camera or audio settings. From there, copy the invite link or generate a new one.
The published Android instructions do not give a separate Preview and Go Live sequence, so use the controls shown in your current app rather than assuming the iOS sequence is identical.
Help the guest join successfully
- Send the link directly to the intended guest. Streamlabs’ Desktop Collab Cam guidance recommends sharing invite links only with trusted people and generating a new link if one may have leaked. That is desktop guidance, but it is a sensible precaution for a shareable invite link generally.
- Allow the guest to join before or during the stream. They do not have to be present before you go live.
- Check the framing and audio in the scene. Use the layer controls and gear settings before relying on the guest video in the broadcast.
- If a PC-browser guest sees a blank screen, check the dated support notice. Streamlabs published a notice on August 19, 2026, reporting that some guests using a PC browser encountered a blank screen after selecting Join; the notice said the issue was under investigation and that mobile joining worked in the meantime. Its status may have changed, so consult the current support notice before treating this as an ongoing fault.
Streamlabs’ sources do not establish a minimum app or operating-system version, a required network speed, or a definitive maximum number of guests for Mobile across plans. Its feature page and Desktop guide give different Ultra guest limits in different product contexts, so do not assume either figure applies to your Mobile setup; check the current in-app or plan terms.
