Your actual upload time depends on your measured upstream speed and the total size of your files—not the headline speed on an Airtel plan.
Before you start: files, connection and visibility
Gather the source videos
Put the files you intend to upload somewhere easy to find, and check that your computer has enough free local storage for them. Keep the originals until each upload is visible in Studio and you have checked its processing and playback. This is a practical way to avoid losing track of a file during a large transfer.

Check your Airtel connection where you will upload
Run an internet speed test on the computer and network you plan to use, preferably near the time you will transfer the files. Pay attention to the upload result, not just the download result. Repeat the measurement if speeds vary. Airtel’s published plan speed is not a measurement of your actual upstream throughput.

Estimate how long the library may take
Add the sizes of the files you plan to upload, then use your measured upload rate for a best-case estimate. A rough calculation is:
Hours ≈ total file size in GB × 8,000 ÷ upload speed in Mbps ÷ 3,600
For example, 100 GB at a measured 20 Mbps works out to about 11.1 hours of continuous transfer under ideal conditions. Treat that as a lower-bound estimate, not a promise: YouTube says upload duration varies with file size, bandwidth, upload traffic and video quality; a slow or unstable connection and peak ISP traffic can add time. Upload speed tests are snapshots, and large transfers may span busy periods or interruptions. If your connection fluctuates, plan for the transfer to take longer than the calculation suggests.
Upload videos in YouTube Studio and add them to playlists

Open YouTube Studio and select Create → Upload videos.

Select up to 15 video files at a time. For a larger library, repeat the process in manageable batches; each video still needs its own details reviewed. YouTube’s upload instructions describe the multi-file workflow.

For each video, check its title and other details, including the audience setting, and choose the intended playlist in the details flow. A playlist is an organizing tool for uploaded YouTube videos, not a folder that uploads local files.

Review visibility before finishing. You can upload a video and decide separately whether to make it public, unlisted or private. YouTube Help puts the distinction plainly: “When you upload a video, the video file is imported to YouTube.” When you publish it, “the video is made available for anyone to watch.” An upload left private is not publicly viewable.

After the upload, confirm that the video appears in Studio and check that processing and playback are as expected before moving on from the source file.

For playlist management beyond assigning videos during upload, see YouTube’s playlist help. Its guidance also notes a daily limit for creating public playlists, so a very large library may need playlist creation staged over time.
If a browser upload is interrupted
YouTube says you can return to the upload page within 24 hours and select the same file to continue an interrupted browser upload. Keep the original file available and use the same account and upload workflow. If the interruption does not resume, check the connection and try selecting that file again from Studio. Details are in YouTube’s upload troubleshooting guidance.
Studio or API: which workflow fits a large library?

What API automation changes
The current videos.insert documentation specifies a maximum media file size of 256 GB and a separate daily bucket of 100 calls for that method. These are API constraints, not YouTube Studio batch limits. Check the project’s current quota and requirements before planning a migration; the documentation’s private-only restriction applies to unverified API projects created after July 28, 2020.

A custom importer can use Google’s resumable upload protocol: start an upload session, retain the returned session URL, transfer the media (in chunks if appropriate), and query session status to continue after an interruption.
Putting a video into a playlist is another API request. The playlistItems.insert documentation requires a playlist ID and video ID, requires OAuth authorization, and assigns 50 quota units per insertion. It can fail if the playlist has reached its allowed maximum or the account cannot access the item. Check current API documentation and project limits before automating a large import.
Copyright and release checks for a large library
Before making a batch public, confirm that you have the rights needed to upload and share each video, including any music, footage or other material it contains. Review the audience and visibility settings rather than assuming that successful upload means the video is ready for public release. Uploading and playlist organization do not themselves grant rights to use someone else’s content.
