You cannot unlock Roger Jr. yet through gameplay. Roger Jr. is a paid TEKKEN 8 Season 3 DLC character, scheduled for early access to Season Pass 3 owners in North America on November 12, 2026, and release to all players on November 17, 2026. He is not a story-mode, arcade, or challenge reward.
Roger Jr. is not hidden behind a fight, rank, campaign chapter, or in-game currency. Roger Jr. unlock status and release dates
There are two announced ways to obtain access: buy the Season 3 Pass and use its early-access entitlement, or wait for the general release and buy Roger Jr. as an individual DLC if that option is offered in your store. Bandai Namco has not published a standalone price in the information currently available.

The official Japanese TEKKEN 8 site displays November 12 for early access and November 17 for general access as well. It does not publish an hour in the material reviewed, and it does not establish a different regional timetable. Check your platform’s store listing and the publisher’s regional announcements near release rather than assuming a midnight unlock in your local time.
What “unlock” means in this case
Roger Jr. is downloadable content, not a character that becomes playable after meeting an in-game condition. You do not need to finish the story, win a number of ranked matches, clear arcade mode, or complete a special challenge. Those activities cannot substitute for the DLC entitlement.

Before purchasing
- Confirm that your copy of TEKKEN 8 is on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC via Steam.
- Use the same platform account that owns the base game. DLC entitlements are normally attached to the purchasing platform account, so buying on a different account can leave the character unavailable in your game.
- Read the store listing for your region. The published schedule specifically names North America for the November 12 early-access date; other regional details are not established by the announcement.

Route 2: wait for general access and buy Roger Jr. separately
If early access is not important, wait until Tuesday, November 17, 2026, when Bandai Namco says Roger Jr. will be available to all players. The publisher’s product page says individual DLCs can be bought separately, so a character-only purchase is an announced alternative to the pass.
Two details remain unconfirmed in the currently published information:
- The standalone price is not stated.
- The exact storefront timing and listing for the individual character are not confirmed.
After November 17, search your platform’s official TEKKEN 8 add-ons for a Roger Jr. listing, check that it is compatible with your edition and platform, and buy it with the account that owns the base game. If no listing appears immediately, do not purchase an unrelated bundle simply because its name contains “Season 3”; wait for the character’s own official product entry or a platform update.
Do you need to buy the base game?
Yes, you need a supported copy of TEKKEN 8 to play the DLC. The character add-on is not a standalone fighting game. The supported platforms identified by Bandai Namco are:

There is no announced free gameplay route. Waiting for November 17 changes the date and potentially the purchase choice; it does not make the character a story reward.
Preparing for the release dates
Because the announced dates are future dates, preparing your account and installation in advance reduces the chance of mistaking a missing update for a missing entitlement.
Account and edition checklist
- Launch the game once before release so you know which platform account and edition you are using.
- Record whether you bought the base game digitally or on disc, and on which platform.

The character is missing after November 17
- Verify that you are using the supported version of TEKKEN 8 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or Steam.
- Check that you bought the individual Roger Jr. DLC or Season 3 Pass, not only the base game.
- Search the add-on page again after updating. Store availability can appear at a different local hour, and the sources do not specify a universal release time.
- Restart the platform and game after the add-on finishes downloading.
You bought the base game on disc
A disc can provide access to the base game while the character entitlement remains digital. Confirm that the DLC was purchased for the same platform family and account. The disc itself is not evidence that Roger Jr. was included.
You are playing outside North America
Do not automatically apply the North American November 12 early-access wording to another region. The Japanese official site shows November 12 and November 17, but the material available does not specify an hour or a separate regional schedule.
