Vote for Baba in the pregame lobby if she appears on the ballot. That supports her place in Deadlock’s reported player-voted hero release order, but it does not guarantee an individual unlock. Sources available as of October 7, 2026, do not confirm that Baba is playable yet; check the in-game roster and announcements.
How to support Baba’s release
- Open a pregame lobby. Look for the hero ballot before the match starts; reported voting takes place there. deadlock.one’s update coverage describes the voting system.
- Vote for Baba if she is listed. The reported system releases new heroes one at a time in an order decided by player votes. Deadlock Labs’ schedule lists Baba among the ballot choices.
- Play to increase the reported weight of your vote. The same update coverage says votes from the winning team count double and a player’s first win of the day grants twice as many votes. These are reported voting multipliers, not personal unlock requirements.
- Check the roster and current in-game announcements. A vote supports release order; it does not confirm that Baba has won a slot or become playable.
Is Baba playable now?
Her status is not confirmed by the available reporting as of October 7, 2026. Deadlock Labs lists Rat King as released on October 2 and the next slot on October 6, but its schedule page still lists Baba among ballot choices. Separately, an October 6 patch archive describes Baba as an upcoming hero, not one confirmed as live. The schedule and update reporting therefore do not establish that she is playable. Deadlock Labs’ schedule and the October 6 patch archive are third-party sources; the latter reports the update, rather than linking to a verified Valve announcement.

Update coverage says the six heroes unlock on Tuesdays and Fridays at 2 PM Pacific Time, while the schedule lists October 6, followed by October 9, 13, 16 and 20. Those dates describe the reported release schedule, not proof that Baba won a slot. Use the in-game roster as the practical check for availability. deadlock.one’s update coverage and Deadlock Labs’ update tracker describe the schedule and voting order.
Does Baba require a quest, level or purchase?
No Baba-specific quest, personal progression requirement or paid unlock is documented in the sources cited here. The reported method is to vote for her in the pregame ballot to support her release order. Do not treat a vote multiplier as a separate unlock route: it affects reported voting weight, not a guaranteed personal reward.

Who is Baba?
Third-party coverage of the October 6 “Mind the Birds” update describes Baba as a Central Park pigeon lady whose ultimate turns targets into pigeons. That report identifies her as upcoming, but does not confirm that players can select her. The patch archive’s October 6 coverage is the source for that description.
