Uninstall System Mechanic through Control Panel
- Open Windows taskbar search, type Control Panel, and open it.
- Select Programs, then Programs and Features.
- Find and select System Mechanic in the installed-program list.
- Choose Uninstall/Change and follow the iolo uninstall prompts.
- When the process finishes, acknowledge any completion message and restart the PC if Windows or the installer prompts you.

Other uninstall routes in Windows 10 and 11
Microsoft documents uninstall options from the Start menu and from Settings > Apps > Installed apps. The labels or availability can vary by Windows version. If System Mechanic does not appear in Settings, use Control Panel instead. Microsoft notes that there are different ways to remove apps and programs, so if one route does not show the app, try another location.

Check that the uninstall completed
- Confirm the iolo uninstall dialog reached completion.
- Restart if prompted.
- After restarting, return to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features and check whether System Mechanic is still listed.
If it is no longer listed, that is a practical confirmation that the application’s uninstall entry has been removed. It is not proof that every residual file, setting, or user-specific item has been erased. The cited official directions do not promise forensic removal, so do not manually delete folders or registry entries on that basis.
If System Mechanic will not uninstall
- Restart Windows and try the standard uninstall again.
- If Windows offers an app repair or reset option for the entry, consider using it where appropriate, then retry the uninstall.
- If the desktop program remains blocked or the removal appears incomplete, use Microsoft’s Program Install and Uninstall troubleshooter and follow its published steps. It addresses certain installation or removal problems, including incomplete uninstall data and some corrupted registry keys.
- If the product-specific uninstall still cannot finish, contact iolo support rather than editing the registry or running an unrelated cleanup utility.

If you want to stop charges
Uninstalling the software does not cancel a subscription. If you bought directly from iolo, contact iolo to cancel. If you purchased through a partner, use the contact details on your billing statement or confirmation. Check which seller charged you before requesting cancellation; see iolo support information.
