Swipe down from the top of your screen to open Quick settings, then tap Flashlight. Tap it again to turn the light off. The flashlight uses your Galaxy phone’s camera LED, and the exact swipe behavior can vary by software version and layout.
Turn the flashlight on or off from Quick settings

Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the notification shade or Quick settings. On newer Galaxy layouts, a swipe from the top right may open Quick settings directly. On a combined layout, the controls are available from the same swipe area. Samsung Support explains how to use the Galaxy flashlight, and Samsung Canada describes the Quick settings gesture.

If you do not see the button, swipe down again to expand the panel or swipe sideways through the available controls. You can also rearrange the buttons or add controls in Quick settings.

Adjust the flashlight brightness

Touch and hold the Flashlight icon to open its controls.

Turn the flashlight on, then move the brightness slider. The slider is unavailable while the flashlight is off. Samsung’s flashlight guide documents this control.

Set up a Side button shortcut
On supported devices, you can assign a double-press of the Side button to toggle the flashlight:

Open Settings > Advanced features > Side button.

Under Double press, choose Flashlight.

Double-press the Side button to switch the flashlight on or off.

Galaxy phones running One UI 7.0 separate Notifications and Quick settings by default. Devices on One UI 6.1.1 or earlier use a combined swipe layout. The panel can also be customized, so the Flashlight button may be on a later page or in the expanded controls. Samsung outlines the layout changes in its Quick settings guide.

If the flashlight control is missing, expand the panel and look through its pages first; then use the panel’s editing controls to add or reposition it. Touching and holding controls can reveal additional options.
