To turn on subtitles on Paramount+, start a video, open the playback controls, and select the speech-bubble, CC, subtitles, or captions button. Choose an available track. If you use Android, Roku, or a supported smart TV, there are also platform-specific settings to check.
Turn subtitles on in the Paramount+ player
- Start the movie, episode, or live program you want to watch.
- Open the playback controls. On a computer or mobile web browser, Paramount+ says to select the speech-bubble icon.
- Choose the captions control, which may be labeled CC, Subtitles, or Captions.
- Select an available language or caption track. The choices can vary by title, so a particular language may not be offered for every program.

Use the platform-specific setting if needed
Android
- Open the Paramount+ app and select the Menu icon in the upper-left corner.
- Choose Settings, then Closed Captions.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.

Roku
You can enable captions from Roku’s system settings: from the Roku home screen, go to Settings > Accessibility > Captions Mode and select On. You can also try the Paramount+ player’s caption control during playback.

Paramount+ also documents a remote shortcut: press the asterisk button, choose Accessibility and Language, then Captions. Menu wording can vary by Roku model. Samsung, Hisense, Philips, and LG smart TVs
For these supported smart TVs, Paramount+ directs viewers to open Settings within the Paramount+ app and choose Closed Captions. Other TV brands may place captions in the app or in the television’s accessibility settings. Paramount+ accessibility instructions

Other devices
For Apple TV, Fire TV, and other individual smart-TV models, the available official instructions do not establish a single menu path. First try the captions control in the Paramount+ player; if it is missing or ineffective, check the device’s accessibility settings and the current Paramount+ instructions for your platform.

- Reopen the playback controls and check the Paramount+ caption or subtitle menu. Make sure a track is selected.
- If you are on Roku, check both the in-app player and Roku’s Captions Mode. Some streaming apps use their own caption controls instead of the device setting, so Roku’s system setting may not change what happens in Paramount+.
- Try another episode or title. Caption tracks can differ between programs, and this helps determine whether the issue is specific to one title.
- If the problem occurs only in Paramount+, contact its support team. Its closed-captioning contact page asks you to include a description of the issue, your device type, the title and season or episode where applicable, the live channel name if relevant, and your contact information.
Roku likewise recommends checking the app’s playback menu as well as device settings; if the issue is limited to a particular streaming app, contact that service. Roku app-feature troubleshooting

Change caption appearance
Turning captions on selects a track; changing their appearance is a separate setting. Paramount+ lists Subtitle Settings under Settings > Subtitles + Audio for caption appearance. On Roku, use Settings > Accessibility > Caption style, or look for Captions and Text if Accessibility is not shown. Paramount+ subtitle settings
